Grey Popups with Windows XP and Friends

This is how you get rid of them without downloading any extra program or paying for something you don't need.

1. Click on Start and open the control panel.
2. Double click Administrative Tools.
3. Double click on Services, then scroll down to Messenger.
4. Double click Messenger and click on Stop to stop the service.
5. In the drop down box change the startup type to Disable and click Apply

This should disable those annoying grey popups you get. Thought this would be of use.

This isn't for internet web popups, they are for the grey popup messages you get because of a security issue in XP. They have the same general idea of a web popup, though.
