Sarian sat uneasily in the Moonglow tavern. His beloved Silver Bow had been over run by daemons. Ale would still quench his thirst and loosen his tighten muscles. The night have proved to be overly eventful. It nearly made him sick to his stomach, realizing how quickly things had escalated.

He had shown up late, his Arcanamach brethren already stood at the front of the group. There was a large handful of Moonglow soldiers and a rather large group and red and black uniforms. Sarian didn't fret, it had been a while since he wore Moonglow colors. He didn't expect to know everyone they worked with.

Fong stood at the top of the steps and waved them all in. Sarian still wasn't exactly sure what to expect. He was still overwhelmed by the news of Nujelm being over run by daemons and hell spawn.

"I assume we're here to send aid to Nujelm. The neighbour Island to Moonglow. The Protectorate meets here to show peace and give food and gold to those of Britain. What about Nujelm, the heart of the protectorate and the home of the Regent?" He pondered.

Sarians shield hung loosely on his right arm, his fingers wrapped lazily around his mace. Four members of the Fey family surrounded him. Pixies had always found themselves at the Arcanamachs side. For aid and for comfort. They entered the Castle, and a cold chill washed over Sarian. He felt sick, worried, panic. Something wasn't right.

The clacking of hooves up above startled him. Sanctian soldiers darted around the loft up above the Moonglow army. Screams started abruptly, bottles came smashing down upon them. Fire urpted on all around, a hellish glow consumed the group. Xian, Calee, Ybri and Tiki spun around frantically. Before Sarian could give his allied pixies directions, they shot off towards Marcus, the one who had indeed thrown the potion in Sarians direction.

There was no time to breath. There was no time to think. The castle was being set to fire all around them. The Protectorate would rather take it all down then accept defeat. Defeat from what? Sarian still wasn't sure why he had come here in the first place. Smoked filled his lungs, his breaths were heavy and toxic. He coughed and panic began to set in, the magical flames began to die down. But the chaos was at its peak.

Xian, Calee, Ybri and Tiki hadn't returned to his side. Tears filled his eyes, whether from emotion or the smoke he wasn't sure. His shield tightened on his arm, and his fingers were now full of life, gripping the mace. The battle was merely seconds in, but so much had happened. Fong fell at his side and in the distance he could see the General overwhelmed and taken down.

Langois, a Sanctian soldier, was the first to catch his eye. Sarian peered left, up the stairs to the loft. Langois stood on horse back, prepared for battle. But not for Sarian.

Three short strides from his magical mount took Sarian to the top of the stairs. His war axe crammed its way through Langois' armor, he bled perfusely. In a blink of an eye Sarian he jammed the war axe on his back and spun the mace menacingly. One hard blow pushed the soldier back, the Sanctian turned to flee. Sarian gritted his teeth and gripped his mace and took up chase. One hard blow to the back sent the soldier to the ground. The Protectorate had gone soft on their training and their soldiers.

His breaths were deep. His lungs cleared from smoke. The panic had been let loose. It didn't matter why they had come in the first place. All that mattered was the present. Sarian darted around the loft, looking for his next target. Sanctians darted around the loft and down below. Two more had fallen victim to the malicious mace of their old comrade.

"I came to Moonglow for guidance. I came to find something more, to see if I was worth more than gold. I have bettered myself down to the core and found peace amongst my soul. I had no intentions in trading blows with my previous employers. I refuse to deliver any blows to Adrien, or have any part in his capture. " Sarian was overwhelmed by thought. It didn't slow his pace as he darted around the castle.

He watched as Vaen and several other Moonglow soldiers took the Regent through a portal. He sighed quietly. Things had escalated much quicker than he expected.

What was happening?
