A book... a word... a letter...
Alexander read the book carefully, watching each word and letter as if it might disappear at any moment. He had gone on his journey to find out what he must do next in life just a few weeks prior and he now felt as if he was making progress towards his goal. The book explained a time and place, one of elven history and heritage. He had not heard of the area which was described, yet it seemed vaguely familiar to him. He must read more.
Sitting in whatever position seemed comfortable and changing whenever it suited him no longer, Alexander took in the information that he recieved. The place had apparently been named Paliendir. He wasn't sure of what that meant yet, but the word flowed smoothly off his tongue and sounded pleasant. He had to learn more of this place. He also learned of the lands inhabitants. Apparently they were elves, but in many ways they seemed different. He wondered what sort of civilization this had been and where it might be now.
Looking at the book in front of him, and more directly at the amount of the book that he had read, he realized that something seemed wrong. He had to have been reading for a few hours, yet the page he was on seemed to be only a few after the first. It was discouraging at first, but then the thought of having so much more to learn became exciting. He had to continue, but there was something he must do first.
Taking out a small pen and piece of parchment, he scribbled down a quick note and sent it off with his pidgeon.
Quote: | Suilad Vaen,
My travels have brought me to an interesting find and it has taken much of my time. I feel that a new beginning awaits me as soon as I find out a few more things. Sadly this means that I must leave the Legion of Justice as a member. This by no means is to say that I shall stop being a friend of yours, the Legions, and every member within your ranks. I would be honored to remain such and help you whenever you are in need. I shall continue to strive for Justice and what it means. I hope that you understand this and that things will work out, I am sure you will. Thank you Vaen. Thank you for everything you have done. You've been a wonderful friend and I am sure you shall continue being such. Allowing me to enter the ranks of the Legion has helped me learn many things. There's so many things, I don't think I can ever say enough thanks for them all. Anyways, the find I have found is rather interesting and I shall remember to tell you as much as I can when next we meet.
Namaarie for now, mellon,
Alexander

Knowing that what must be done was now done, Alexander went back to the book he had been studying. He would continue to read until he knew all he could. It all seemed wonderful, and indeed it was. What a nice journey he had found. |
