Words faded in and out of Brianha’s mind. She could hear and then it would fade to nothing as she fell back into the black hole of sleep she had been vulnerable to. The sweet sound of her daughters voice filled her ears at times and a smile would grace her lips even though she could not wake enough to open her eyes. She could feel the touch of her daughters hand holding hers softly, cradling it as she stroked her mothers hair and cooed words of wellness.

In the moments of clear thought Bri knew they made the right decision with their daughter. It eased her mind knowing someone else was not raising her baby, that she didn’t have to grow through a childhood without a mother. Vaen was a busy man and with her in this condition it would have fallen solely on him to raise a baby… not something with his responsibilities that he would have easily been able to do. It was frustrating to lay there with no control over what was happening to her. She fought daily with her mind and body and if she could scream she would a thousand times a day. Yes for them this was the right thing. Nadia was a blossoming young woman and was able to be self sufficient with the guidance of her father thanks to her quick advance through childhood.

She missed Vaen terribly every day and wanted nothing more than to be back in his arms .. the woman she was before. Becoming part of her family again was her motivation to hang in there … to not lose her mind to this disease. She would overcome it as she had so many things before this. Tired of thinking her mind began to fade with the wonder of what she would meet in her daughter when she could see again.
