A cold chill ran down her spine as they moved unto the daemon temple. The heat of the surrounding volcanoes chilled her in a way that was hard to explain. For heat was her cold and coldness her heat. She was opposite in body temperature and lowering the air around her brought comfort.

Her battle armour stuck into her sides uncomfortably in this land of warmth where the harsh glare of fire island made her long for Umbra. Yet she was here on business, daemons to the slaughter, for a purpose. Training....strength....unity.

She breathed into her rag doll like body new life, as she chilled the blade of her sword, the scar on her neck burning painfully she paid it no heed she had work to do. Commands to give....Merci had always lead by working on the lowest level. She had never been afraid to dirty her hands in the same way she commanded others to dirty them. She infiltrated the ranks of her own soldiers with her own blood sweat and tears. None could refute that Merci held herself not above others, as one seamless machine Umbra moved.

Minax that great lady, young yet powerful grasping at what she could with cleverness and ability. A warrior in her own right. Merci admired this she looked upon those around her with pride. For no matter how you fought, with magic or blade the mindset of a warrior was universal. Battle mages, Great swordsmen, Umbra would be known for this.

A flame strike shot off next to her the heat searing her hair as she saw the Sagemaster cast and she smiled, that had been purposefully close. These to dancing in an age old game the oddity of fire and ice so similar in effect of destruction but so different the method of. Never had Umbra experienced such a paradox as the Sagemaster, a man of the flame and heat, and the Lady of War a woman of Ice and Snow. Yet underneath it all a common goal held them together....

Umbra... her people the land they fought for in unity, good or bad it was a land for their own one they claimed in its magnificent darkness for the good of their kind, be it undead, human, elf, gypsy, or even Lycan.

Her eyes landed upon the Patriach as he fought beside them all leading guiding, molding, His strength flowing into them unto them pushing them. His young sister, like many the child of Umbra, Kale, pressing her talents to work in this fight. Willow hovering close to the young WITS side.

She stared unto these two offspring of Ceinwyn with pride, her heart swelling in the moment. My Matriarch, my friend, you live forever on in your people.

Another daemon fell...

Kale stared up the largest stairway she'd ever set eyes on. The horned heads of demons could be seen as the monstrous beasts walked around. Umbrans on either side of her began rushing the stairs to take them on, and Kale found herself drawing the sword she'd found in her mother's room. Without another moment's delay, she was running up the steps alongside her clansmen.

She stood at the top watching her friends and family carving into the gigantic red beasts, when she felt the presence of something behind her. This warrior instinct (though she did not know what it was) caused her to turn about. She found herself gazing directly up into the snarling beast of her kin. The demon wasn't distinguishing her from the rest of the Umbrans, so she decided that she would not pay it that courtesy, either.

She brought her sword stabbing upward, as if possessed, piercing the demon's chest. Whispering a few additional spell words of encouragement (to die), the demon collapsed nearly on top of her. She found the first one a bit difficult to tug her sword free from, but she quickly figured out a trick to it.

She reasoned that if these lesser demon relatives of hers couldn't handle her ten year old self, they didn't deserve to live.
