After their conversation; the man quietly turned from Ceinwyn ... his head bowed allowing the snow white mane to flow over his neck freely. He brought gloved hands up and pulled the shadow hood over his head, tugging the sleeves down over the crimson tunic. Much had been revealed this evening, many secrets told that were not truly secret.

"We are getting old my friend ... to damn old... time is short even for those the Time Lord has cursed"

~oh snuff it kid - you ignore the frail and shove off to more important matters.~

Forcefully thumping his temple with the blunt of his finger, padded cu sidhe boots made their way quietly across the stone floor - the only sound would be the ruffle of the shroud around him. "Life as we know it is still at a standstill. Time has slowed to a stop for us. She at least brings good conversation ... and a new purpose."

~oh yes ... protect the woman who enjoyed torturing you; the cause that made you torture the innocent; and the people that once tried to string you up and feed your innards to the demon Beloth.~

The memories of the events flooded his mind, things that have past ... the torture, pain and torment he endured ... and the horrors he put onto others

"All that in the name of a religion I never believed in."

~But in the cause of protecting a family you swore an oath too.~

"Bugger the oath ... they stripped that from me when I left for the City." A mutter under his breath, as he crossed from the Sepulcher towards the Resolve he has been remodeling. His shadow casting an eerie flicker across the dark land of Umbra.

~You care for her don't you? Have you forgotten the past ... the ones you swore to and betrayed you? The ones "you" betrayed? Get close to her ... I'll do it again... I will revel in it.. You will enjoy it.~

"I dominated you once cretin ... I will do so again. What I feel ... what I felt ... has been more than You could understand. Fiend." The Dark Knight made his way to the second story, taking a seat within the single wooden chair ~how does it feel to not need sleep now? Insomnia or Nightmares keeping you awake?~
"Urges and Hope perhaps? Wanton enjoyment ... or the thrill of a new purpose ... " - ~Now Now don't lie to yourself ... I 'AM' you after all~

"You have never been me. And as long as this city thrives - You will never again be free."

The dark knight closed his eyes, pushing the chair on its back two legs to balance while he watched the nights events play out behind closed lids ... a simple conversation ... a revelation ... to one that holds not even wishes.

The mask could not hide his familiar and reminiscent charm. How quickly into their conversation memories long and probably better left buried unearthed themselves from the dust of her subconscious mind. It seemed almost amusing to him, and she knew that behind his mask he hid a secretive smile. As if this was a game of cat and mouse, and he'd already picked the choice role for himself.

She found herself envious of his ability to simply walk into a room for the first time and with the knowing glance of old familiarity pierce armor so carefully woven...

Damn him. There was nothing she could say, and what was worse was that she knew that he already knew it. Yet the words would have their out. As if there had been a reasonable explanation for her ill-treatment of him so many years ago. Surely he had only been a means of exacting revenge on that hated town. There couldn't have been another reason she had held him captive in that frozen cell.

Do not.. do not mention that, Arakad, please..

Her thoughts kept to herself, nothing more than silent pleas as he parted the curtains of history against her unspoken wishes, propelling her thoughts toward memories she had forced herself to ignore, not just at that time, but forever, until now. His words opened a floodgate of memories that even she had managed to forget existed. It had been her foolishness to think that if she could block it off, she would be safe.

There were very surprising limits to how much one could fool oneself.
