An angry flame shot up from ab'arawn keep as nyxanna burnt a moving crate. Black smoke filled the air and she coughed but her anger did not lessen. All her life she had been quiet, and doing what was asked of her. Never had she made a fuss or disobeyed. She had been tutored by some of Umbra's finest mages. She had studied alchemy from a master Alchemist that even Umbra herself went to for advice. She had graduated beside her peers as a First Generation WIT.
Yet tonight, she had been made to feel a fool. What was worse was her own Grandmother had seen it done. Ceinwyn had always been a bit harder on her own blood and Nyxanna had learned this. Yet tonight the Matriarch has spent a good deal of the eve publicly recanting Nyxanna's shortcomings. She had always been a bit unfocused in public situations. Shy and not one to brag she had tried to follow the conversation. Sadly many were talking, tons of people from the past were popping up at every turn. Her mind had wandered and she had been caught not paying attention a few times. For this she felt she was demoted, with her own friend Ciara, whom she had grown up with, worked on projects with and basically an equal to her in alchemy being put to the task of acessing her skills. How can one access someones skills if they are equal to.
The pile burnt higher and she tossed another wooden box on it as she shed a tear. The truth was Nyxanna was not herself as of late, she already missed her father and the other Umbrans whom would soon be leaving. She had felt very alone and tonight she felt even lonelier. She had remained quiet long enough she would not be walked on. Nyxanna had worked and remained humble long enough. She had worked in an Umbras Regeant store, and trained for years her knowledge of all things alchemy was high and she was not going to stand for it.
Yet unlike her grandmother she would not discuss it in a public setting with all the eyes of Umbra on her. She rushed in the house after snuffing the flames of her anger and sat down to write. |
