The cutting wind pulled him from his unconscious state. Laying there blinking at the stars Vian attempted to gather his thoughts.

"Where was he? How did he get here?" he wondered to himself.

As he went to sit up his left side exploded in pain.

Fighting the pain to slowly stand, he assessed his surroundings. He was in an alley...in Britain... Then he remembered. There was a battle after the coronation. It was nothing like he expected, it was a complete blur. Magical energies, explosions and the clashing of blades erupted so quickly he didn't have time to think, just act. He remembered fighting a couple of the vampires, magical energies slamming into him, a chase, more fighting and then... Then he was waking up on his back, with an incredible pain in his side.

"Nice start you idiot," he thought to himself in disgust. "Your first battle and you almost bite it."

As he slowly began to move through the streets he cursed himself and vowed he would train harder.
