His journey home had been fairly long and boring. Sleeping on a ship even in calm seas wasn't exactly the most pleasant of slumbers. Traveling by horse to the moon gate that would take him to Luna
hadn't really been the most refreshing experience, his muscles ached after the first few minutes of riding. Not really accustomed to sitting in the saddle the journey from Luna seemed to span weeks instead of hours.

Returning home for Cyrus had not been quite what he expected. His father, Talon Skyfire, had gone off after his sisters murderer.
He had returned to an empty castle. There was no parade for the return of a prince, no well wishers lining the streets. No celebration that night.
Life simply seemed to go on in the Kingdom of Sanctus. There where fewer people here then when Cyrus had been sent off. He chalked that up to the missing King.

Life seemed just as boring here in Sanctus as it did during his long hours of lessons spent with his teacher. Battle strategies and History where never much fun to actually learn about. At least not for Cyrus.
Days spent in prayer, weeks learning how to use those prayers for healing was all fine and well for some. But not for Cyrus.

Battle. The thrill of battle is what got Cyrus through those weeks of training. Not that he'd experienced battle himself, but he dreamed of it nightly. Visions of conquest, over all those that sought refuge in Oblivions embrace. Victories against those that harmed the innocent or plundered from the weak fueled his thoughts. Drove him to succeed at his studies.

He pictured his first battle in his head, a masterful strategic victory that would go off without a hitch. He thought of the celebration that would follow.

Lost in his own thoughts he was deaf to the booming laughter of any of the god's that happened to be looking down just then.
