"Darkness covers the world. Once great nations have lost their way and unwittingly serve the aims of shadow. The former Virtous lay in bed with necromancers, savages, and power hungry Lords and ladies............. Necromancers openly sit in court with these great leaders of "Light." Necromancy is not only tolerated by these people, but encouraged as a legitimate form of magic. I surmise the next step in their political agenda will be an open alliance with the forces of Umbra"
- A Call to the Faithfull, King Talon Skyfire
Evil was everywhere.
Vampires and necromancers had somehow infiltrated nearly every organization in the world. The shocking thing to Vian was that these were not hidden actions, they were in the open for all to see. No one was really fighting Umbra or the Vampires. The Protectorate were allies with the Emperor Tai and his people, whom was in league with vampires. Even the Duchess Molly's Grand General had openly defended the use of necromancy.
There was still a long road ahead, but the men and women of Sanctus were -starting- to remember what they were founded on. They were to be the scourge of darkness, the protectors of the defenseless, the champions of Virtue and the defenders of light.
When Vian had first returned to Sanctus he thought for a while the Lord Commander was under control of Umbra. Now he thought that maybe, the Lord Commander feared for his people, and was doing what he felt he must to ensure survival. But now, things were changing.
It was time for action |
