Alex Brightblade stood before the doors of Empath Abbey with his hand on the knob of the door ready to open it when memories began to flood his mind. He remembered the times he spent here as he grew up learning about the Virtues. He remembered how the monks drilled into there minds the concept of Virtue daily. All of this was part of the training for a noble wishing to be a Knight of Virtue they where taught all the principles of the Virtues from the very basic to the most sacred. Alex also remembered one monk above all others. The monks name was Father Kale. Kale had once been a Knight of Virtue himself but when he got to the age he could no longer lift a sword he chose the path of Monk and teacher to the future Knights. Kale taught Alex many things that were not in the texts they studied.. He taught the Knight always to be true to himself and to follow a very simple motto " Est Sularas oth Mithas" which meant My honor is my life.

Kale was who Alex was going to see today. He knew his first step to redeeming his soul would be confessing of his wrongs he had done as a Knight. He would have to follow the path of Honesty which in the texts studied said that, " Truth alone becomes Honesty, for without honesty between our people, how can we build the trust which is needed to maximize our successes." He now knew to begin his path to redemption he must start this way. Alex finally getting enough courage opened the doors and steped into the Abbey. He walked a straight path to the prayer room. Once there he opened the door and found his friend sitting on the first bench in prayer.

Alex approached his friend and began to speak..

"Father Kayle Ive come for confession." Alex said..

"Ah my child I shall be with you in a moment." Father Kale said.

Father Kale finished his prayer and stood when he turned around a smile appeared on his face to see his old student finally once again in the halls of the Abbey.

" Ah good to see you again my child. I pray all is well?" said Father Kale

"No father I am afraid all is not well." Alex said as he walked towards Father Kale and kneeled bowing his head. "Come now child tell me what is wrong." said Father Kale as he laid his hand on Alex's right shoulder. Alex then breathed a great sigh and began telling his friend of all the evils he had done in his life recently. Tears rolled down Alex's eyes as he told his friend how he had turned his back on the Regency but not intended to but something in a far land had come about so he had to ask for release of his oath. He then told the Father of the great battle in Gaellynn where he had to order men to there deaths just to save a piece of land. He then told him of his decision on his return in a case against the Dark Awakening a decision he felt he regretted after he made. He then told the father all his deepest Secrets. All the while the monk kept a reassuring hand on his friends shoulder. Once done confessing to his wrongs Alex then stood up and looked into his friends eyes and told him of the Quest he had recieved in his vision to redeem his honor. He told his friend how this was to be the first part of the Quest and that he needed a monks blessing to continue the Quest or his redemption would be in vain.

Father Kale looked at his friend and smiled. "You are on the right path my child and you have my blessing. You have a good heart Alex Brightblade even though you have strayed from the path of Virtue you shall once again find that path for if it where not so you would have not been given this vision of a Quest." said Father Kale. Kale then patted Alex on the back and motioned him to the door. " My friend this path ye are about to take shall not be an easy one. It may take you years to complete but I have faith in you." said Father Kale. Alex looked at his friend and thanked him for hearing his confession and for the kind words that where given. Alex then shook his friend's hand and then said good bye. Alex then walked outside of the Abbey to his horse. Feeling refreshed to finally have the truth be known and lifted from his heart he mounted his horse and road off into the woods to begin the second part of his Quest.
