William secured the last of the few items he was taking with him in his pack. A few bandages, an old bow, a sling with some arrows and about 1000 gold coins. He said his last tearful goodbye to his Mother, and left the little house he had called home ever since he was born here in the Yew Woods.

He was 19 now, and he felt the need to get out, to see Sosaria and to learn the ways of the world. His mother pleaded with him to stay, but it was to no avail. He felt it was something he had to do. He had to be a man, and he couldnt do that staying at home and living with his mother. Besides, she was far from being alone here. Everyone knew each other in the area, and their family friends had personally told William they would make sure his mother was okay. With this in mind, William set out on his own.

Young, inexperienced and a little scared, he had no idea what his first move was. He didnt actually have any long-term goals except "grow up". Feeling the bow pressing against his back from inside of his backpack, he decided that to be a man, he needed a skill. Thus he decided to go in search of someone who could mentor him and teach him how to improve his archery.
