The ride from Yew to Vesper took three whole days for Alex. Though the trip could have taken far less Alex had wanted to take his time returning to Vesper so that he could think of what his next task would be on this quest. Try as he might though nothing could come to him.

As Alex rode through the town of Vesper he realized the town was very quiet which was very unsual for this time of the season. As he approached the bank he saw a small child in the streets playing with a bright red ball. Alex slowed his horse down to a stop and jumped off the horse. He then walked over to the child who had stoped playing with his ball and was now looking at Alex wide eyed as he approached. Alex stoped in front of the child and then kneeled down.

"Whats wrong little one?" said Alex.

"Please sir dont hurt me the little boy said barely getting the words out of his mouth."

"I am not hear to hurt you little one. What has happened here?" said Alex

" Priates sir, a small band came into town during the night and raided the town. They stole all our food and left many injured." said the little boy more at ease now that he could tell the man before him wasnt a priate.

"Where are the sick and injured? asked Alex."

The little boy pointed towards the healers shop. Alex then thanked the little boy for the information and also handed the boy something to eat. The little boy smiled and then took up and ball and began walking down the streets once again kicking the ball while taking a bite from a piece of bread and holding two apples in his other hand. After the boy was gone Alex mounted his horse and road towards the healer. Once there dismounted and tied his horse to a rail and then went in to see if he could help. The site inside shocked Alex beyond belief. Inside lay atleast 30 people mainly merchants or farmers all. All hat cuts from blades and bruises all over them. Some were seriously injured. There was only one healer in at work for it seems even the healers where attacked. Alex approached the healer and told the healer he was skilled in the art of healing and wished to help. The healer nodded and showed Alex a place where you could put on suitable clothes for the job at hand. Moments after changing Alex came out and began to help the healer.

With only two people working the healing of all the injured towns people took a total of two days. The healer thanked Alex for his help and offered him what little food and drink he had but Alex declined. After saying good bye to the healer Alex got on his horse and road off to the docks for there was only one thing left to do to help these people. Once at the docks Alex looked around. He spotted only two vessels docked. Alex dismounted and walked down to the where the two vessels were docked. Once there he found the captains of both vessels recongizing the men Alex smiled for he knew he could trust these men. He then told them he wished to hire them for three months of purchasing and bringing food to the people of Vesper. Both men looked at Alex and smiled agreeing to the job. Alex then handed over the first payment and asked them to make there way to Britain and buy as much food as they can buy. He then handed them a second bag of money that would pay for the food. The men nodded to him and then saluted him. Alex then shook there hands and then returned to his horse.

Once back into town Alex found the mayor at his house and told him of the shipment of food that will be coming into port for the next three months. The mayor thanked him and asked him if there was anything they could do to return this favor. Alex asked them only to remember the kindness given here today and to try to show the same kindness to his people and any stranger that is in need. He told the man Compassion for others is an important thing for without Compassion one could become heartless and unloving. The mayor nodded and thanked Alex once again before returning to the comfort of his home. Alex sighed as he watched the man shut the door behind him. Alex hoped the man would take his words to heart for Compassion is important for a Strong leader to rule with kind and understanding heart at times. After a few more moments of looking upon the city and seeing people begin to go back to work Alex then sighed and road off towards west knowing now that the second part of his Quest was done he now must find the next test that is to come his way. He could slowly feel hope return to him. Hope of a better life. Hope of a life of Virtue and doing what is right.
