Kelly stood in the garden on her rooftop. The night was cool and refreshing. She walked slowly, finding the nights sounds comforting. The battle in Brit was a sweet victory...but it would not win the war. She could see the changes in the mortals. She knew they were up to something. Mortals, like vampires, were always up to something. That "something" was usually never a good thing for the other.

She wondered if they were seeking out vampire hunters...or training their own. She was glad there was no Church to speak of in these lands with damnable Inquisitors. Kelly recalled how she hated and feared Lord Joseph Ares. The grand inquisitor made her his primary target. He was hellbent, hellbound, determined, and obsessed with her capture and her "purification."
She shuddered at those torturous memories and looked at her arms. Faith had indeed left its mark upon her undead skin.
Virtue by accursed virtue. Joseph, however, did not succeed in her "purification." She escaped by the blessing of a weak minded mortal who had tossed her a rat to feed on. She grinned as she recalled Joseph's scream of rage echo in the Trinsic night as she ran through the woods to her freedom.

He was the first to catch her. He has not been alone.
She had been arrested by the Leader of the Britanian Armed Forces...Lord Polynikes of Yew on several occasions. Those were more enjoyable times. How she missed those cat and mouse games. She rubbed her chin and wondered if crimes committed in other lands would carry over to these lands. If they did, she would likely have a bounty on her for arrest. She laughed as she remembered the look on Polynikes' face when she rode up to him near the Yew Abbey and told him she had indeed taken the lives of over a hundred twenty-nine rangers outside Skara Brae during a few months time.
How she enjoyed getting that feisty old warrior riled! Sweet memories.

She took a seat on the bench and watched the stars in thought. She and Ian would be busy in the coming days, possibly weeks trying to discern what happened with Moonglow Town Council members in Brit. That would be a diplomatic nightmare.

Then there was the matter with the Lotus Clans. Kelly and Ian shared a long history with Soke Bishimi. She remembered the many encounters she had had with them.

She chuckled softly. It would only be a matter of time before Soke caught wind of what Kelly had sent to Renenutet in the small velvet box. She grinned, remembering how angered the Soke was when he witnessed his dearest friend Oona get her head bashed in by Nalimar's hammer pick on the sacrificial altar to Lloth. The drow matron Kal'iksix had made a tough foe that day. She stood and laughed.

"Only a matter of time before old wounds get cut open again." She spoke as she turned toward the teleporter downstairs.
The breeze carried her words on an unseen current.
