Drayden was full of anticipation for the tasks that lie ahead for this upcoming week. This was easily seen by his quick and steady work, which laid before him on the table. The bolts and arrows that had been crafted for him by the house slaves were barely adequate. So Drayden had spent the better part of his time painstakingly sharpening every point until it was razor sharp. Though he hoped his prey would not put up resistance, he did not want to take any chances. He had done so in the past, when a mark or a task was deemed "easy" and he had failed for one silly reason or another. His red eyes looked with pride at the several dozen arrows he had gone through so far. The slave should be killed for such inconsistency. Apparently, this slave did not realize the lengths that he would go through to ensure his tools were in perfect working order. Drayden could only think of one word for this batch of missiles...average. Good for a human child wishing to shoot at dummies, but hardly what a highly trained archer would consider exquisite. He sighed then and set down his arrow that he had just finished...this place was cold, this place known as Shadowhall. His thoughts went to Felyn, his recently returned Matron and the events that had transpired since...

Kal'iksix had returned not long after his commune with the Spider Queen, Drayden found her waiting for him near the altar. They spoke for a while, moving to the comfort and relative safety of the Tangled Web to further discuss the situation at hand. She looked at him differently now, she spoke to him differently before. The attention was not unwelcome, it had been sometime since he had known the touch of a woman. Though, so few were like a Matron of Lloth. That was fast becoming his attachment in his chaotic life he had led, his family was in chaos what good could they offer. The Spider Queen was chaos in herself, but she had a purpose. She had goals and ambition that seemed to coincide with his own. Perhaps his Matron sensed that and by the end of their encounter he had been claimed as her Patron. This pleased Drayden greatly, as his influence and favor of his Matron was rising. Now however, his role was more demanding. He was to tend to the Matron's needs. Every need...
As if on cue, his sister had made an appearance that evening. Something that Drayden had dreaded and not looked forward to. Of course, if there was anytime to come see him, she comes when he and the Matron were at the Web. He hoped she would keep her tongue and not be so foolish as to openly threaten his pale skinned sister. If Matrons had any tact at all, she did not. There was an awkward moment, when he actually questioned what he was doing here in the Drow Quarter. His Matron knew of his bloodline without a doubt now. She would try and use Felyn against his father that she vehemently despised. Though he wasn't sure how. His loyalty was with his family bloodline. Though he cared nothing for his father,he had protected his sister and would do so again if the need arose. Drayden didn't care what the consequences were...

Kal'iksix had shown much pleasure in the prospect of a sacrifice, as Drayden knew she would. He was pleased that he was given the honor of hunting down this mark. Giving him a task that he felt was up to his capabilities. The Queen's demands were simple. A female surface dwelling sacrifice. He knew that shouldn't be hard to find. He started his work again. Intent on finishing by sunrise so that he could finish his preparations for the hunt ahead. Soon the sacrifice would be captured and ready. Perhaps that would distract the Matron from his family ties. For now.
