Kal’iksix sat in her throne room, as she always did, with her legs casually tossed over the arm of the chair, in deep thought as the house scribe filled her in on the latest happenings during her absence. It felt wonderful to be in her home again, in her chair, back to her Matronly duties. She had only seen Drayden since her return and had been meaning to send for her son.

Drayden, her mind focused on the new discovery about him since her return. The female that boldly sought him out in her Quarter, his sister, fair as the snow seen by Stonegate’s keep. Thinking about the sight almost had Kal’iksix burst into laughter, Drayden, with his ebon skin and white hair, standing next to his sister with her snow white skin, it was quite comical. Tenting her fingers and dismissing the scribe for a moment, Kal’iksix thought about Alaundril, who now obviously is not as pure as he portrayed, and his little tryst that mixed his noble Drow bloodline.

“My my Alaundril, and you have the gall to act all high and mighty towards me,” Kal’iksix spoke aloud to herself, “No wonder you choose to follow my Brother, you disgraced the Goddess with your mixed blood.”

Kal’iksix sat and thought a bit more. Taking Drayden for her patron should stir things up quite a bit; not only within her Mother and Brother, but in Alaundril as well. How would he react to see his son in such a position, even better, to see a granddaughter be raised as a high priestess of Lolth? A wicked laugh escaped her throat at the last thought.

“Hell, let’s truly piss Mother off too. I am going to have two Patrons….if I can ever snap Nalimar out of his suspended state.”

Kal’iksix chewed on the inside of her lip as the scribe returned to the throne room. She has received word that the new patron was busying himself with his new assignment she had given him. The sacrifice, the surface female to send to the Goddess, Kal’iksix had to wonder if it was an order entitled to seal a deal with Drayden. Drayden had brought up the idea that the reason Nalimar was in a suspended state was that perhaps the Goddess wanted Nalimar for her own. Could the Goddess have some ulterior motive? Perhaps to sire another daughter to destroy Kal’iksix?

“Not if I can help it,” Kal’iksix spoke out loud.
“Pardon Mistress?” the scribe asked.
“Issue a decree: Anyone wishing to aid in securing the hold of chaos and darkness in the lands, is loyal to one of the many gods or goddesses of the darkness, is welcome to join the House of D’Alean’und, albeit elf, human, or otherwise. Only requirement is loyalty to the Matron and respect for her beliefs, devotion to Lolth no longer required. The Matron is willing to compensate those hired in full; providing room, board, entertainment and protection as well as full use of the training facilities at the Melee-Magthere.” The scribe gasped at the last statement. Kal’iksix glared hard at him.

The Goddess has a weakness that only I know of, this is a warning to Her that She underestimates Her daughter,” Kal’iksix told the scribe.

“O...O...Of course Mistress,” the scribe bowed his head and finished writing the decree. When he finished he handed the decree to Kal’iksix to read and to affix her seal and signature to it.

“Well done, scribe. Now kneel before your Mistress so she may reward you.”

As the scribe lowered his head and dropped to one knee, Kal’iksix swung her legs from the throne arm. She smiled wickedly down at the male. In one swift motion, she brought her knee up and slammed it into his face, shoving his nose into his skull, killing him instantly.

“What have I said from day one?! NEVER QUESTION THE MATRON MOTHER!!!
