Greetings and Salutations from the City of Umbra,

Her Grace, Lady Ariana Lenoir, wishes to extend her warm wishes and blessings for good health onto the gypsies and all whom find safe haven within them. As a gesture of friendship and good will on behalf of the City of Umbra, she wishes to offer a gift of financial support for the celebration of Sol Invictus. Please send a list of needed supplies and monetary requests in return via the provided courier, or if you prefer a time and location Her Grace, or a chosen representative, can personally meet with you in order to discuss what is needed to help insure the enjoyment of those partaking in the celebration. In addition to the aforementioned offer, Her Grace has procured fifty bottles of imported harvest wine and cider for your guests which she will have safely delivered unto you at your convenience. It is her wish that this letter serve as a catalyst for a mutually beneficial and fruitful relationship and that both our people will begin to find safety and acceptance with one another.

Xana penned the letter carefully, realizing she had no true understanding of proper salutations to someone who was apparently nobility. When she was through, she located her most trusted messenger, instructing him go to Umbra. After giving her directives, she pressed a small ankh pendant into his hand. As she watched the man go on his way, Xana hoped to every god in her pantheon that there was no magic that might possibly divine her upset as she put pen to parchment.


Your Grace and Most Noble and Eternal Mother of Umbra,

It is with immense gratitude that we receive your offer of assistance for the Sol Invictus celebration. At your convenience, we would appreciate a meeting to discuss the intricacies of planning this event.

As you might imagine there are many people working diligently to ensure an appropriate and enjoyable experience, especially for those who may not understand our ways. Many consultations will be required before coming to your city to discuss the matter. It would be most helpful if you could give several days before meeting for me to get essential information from those involved.

To my knowledge, there has never been such a public celebration of this holiday, and if there has it's been so many generations that the memory has been lost in time. Your generous offer and kind words will surely be a story told to children and shared at campfires for many years to come.

Her messenger returns unharmed with a penned response. If prompted, he'll explain that he suffered no ill treatment. He was questioned once entering the city by what appeared to be a guard, but at mention that he had a letter for Lady Ariana Lenoir that he was quickly allowed to continue.

I am pleased to hear of your acceptance of our offer to contribute to your celebration. Your request for time to gather your list of needed supplies and or financial requirements is acceptable. Please send word when your preparations are complete and we will arrange a time and location to discuss the details and what will be required to insure the success of your historical celebration. Although my responsibilities wear upon my availability, I will endeavor to make whatever changes are required for the comfort and the schedule of entourage. May our meeting further the well-being of our people.
