Dearest Lady Ariana,
Please let me begin by offering our most humble thanks for all you have done to support the less fortunate people of my clan. I have dispersed the much needed items you sent with the Umbran contingent. Ours are a proud people, yet pride did not stand in the way of accepting life-saving foods and clothing. But more than that, I offer my own heartfelt thanks for the joy you brought to the children. It was nothing short of beautiful to see them racing around playing with toys they may have otherwise never had, and tasting sweets that are often nothing more than something to dream of on a cold Winter's night when the fire of an empty belly speaks much too loudly.
These things will be remembered for years to come. There are children and young adults who have never been shown the joy of a proper festival, precluded by the horrors of abject poverty. It is simply too much, in too many areas, for one or two people to make a measurable difference.
It is with gratitude I write this, and wish you to know I am eager to meet again to discuss further relations with an eye toward bridging a vast cultural gap.
Gratefully,
Xana _________________ An artist is a creature driven by demons ~Faulkner

Lady Xana,
I am pleased that the supplies have been found useful and needed by the gentle people of your community. I will share the news of the joy of the children with Catherine. I am quite confident it will give her young Majesty happiness to hear of it. If the supplies we've provided run low over the winter, please send word to me and Umbra will send her aid to her new friends.
I wish to thank you personally for allowing myself and my people to join you in your celebration. In private, they all spoke quite highly of it and appeared to have genuinely enjoyed the experience. Your decorations were lovely and the attentiveness of your people in seeing to the needs of the guests was comparable to some of the finest taverns I have had the pleasure of attending. Miss Calestra was quite disappointed she was unable to attend. She came down with a sickness as is often the case in these cold months and was ordered to bed and rest. Although, she attempted quite valiantly to debate the subject with me, I firmly reminded her that such sickness might have spread to your people, in which she quickly recanted her request with a look of genuine fear at that prospect. I am positive once the young lady recovers that she will stop by for a visit. If she becomes to excited, as per her nature, and you find her more a nuisance than helpful, please send word to me and I will discreetly give her another task to redirect her attentions.
I look forward to meeting with you to discuss further relations between our people. In that meeting, I would like to lay forth plans that allow for your people to freely visit our city to trade your goods and allow them an opportunity to learn about our people. It is, of course, my priority to insure their safety during these visits, as I'm sure it is yours as well. I know many of the elderly and the young children may not be inclined to make the journey, however those that would, I politely ask that you speak with and gather a list of names and general physical characteristics for me. In order to discourage any potential issues, I will also provide a set of official identification for each individual in the unlikely circumstance a guard questions their presence. While our people aren't necessarily prone to harassment of visitors, we have unfortunately had a couple instances of espionage and murder of our gentle citizens from foreign lands. Our people have suffered at the hands of those who do not understand them, faulty prejudices and assumptions placed upon their heads by those who do not understand the truth behind who they are. I know having spoken of such an issue prior, that you may have a greater understanding than most regarding this. Hopefully, you understand that my request is simply to protect your people and to allow their visits to be a platform from which a foundation of trust can be forged between our people.
Respectfully I remain,
Lady Ariana Lenoir
Eternal Mother of Umbra,
Regent of Southern Malas
