Winter was building momentum the trees lower and lower in the valley were growing white. It was blanketing the land rich and white the bright tapestry weaving its vast silken threads across the living. Anymore these days as she walked her feet barely met the snow. No footprints did she leave it was as if she had begun to glide. Deep in meditation the winter maid moved, her thoughts spinning and working. The chill in her veins spreading around her. She moved faster and faster she could see a pack of white wolves gliding beside her as she roamed. From time to time she could hear her name.

Before the Winter ends...Before War comes... it must be done. That was all they asked. So one could hope that it would be granted unto them. So she hoped the final seal would mark the sky that day. Blue hair laden with frost lowered down her back as her head lifted up to the sky, the winter wanted to claim her as it did the Ladies of Snow. Winter wanted her for its own..That is when the heartbeat shunned it pushing against the ribcage of frost with resounding thud. There was still warmth here.. Even she had a small bit left...

She moved further into the lace covered trees the icicles heavy and sharp whispering in the breeze. Her eyes were no longer blue, they shined white as the chill of a thousand winters filled her. Her blood froze for a moment and she exhaled in ecstacy.. it was so tempting to let it consume her to let it remain. To transform and become just like all of them to be lost in mountains of snow forever. A howl broke thru her temptation. Guilt filled her, shame...how could she toy with such selfish pleasures..she had those that depended on her. The icicles in the trees spun and fell around her pinning her to the ground and cutting a jagged line down one of her legs. Frozen Crimson on the snow...drops of precious blood...

She growled low, angry at herself she wrestled away from the cage of icicles. Punishment, for her treacherous heart, punishment for the woman who bore the guilt...and pain.

So long ago they died..a mother, a father and so many more. So long ago she saw their blood run in rivers around her fallen body. How did it feel to have your families own blood choke you as you lay unconcious. Only Merci knew....

It felt good, something whispered in her ear..it felt delicious and laughter ebbed from her in the darkened forest. The heartbeats quickened.
