Hurried and forelorn for fear she had not much time left Soren and her oversized bug come waddling quickly into the workshop. thoughtfully but with haste Soren withdrew a quill and began a letter. Once again it has smudges of ore and wood and the scent is ever reminding of smoke.
"Your Honor, Matron Mother, Kal’iksix Viaxus,
I noticed the announcement of the event you are hosting on Friday. I don't know if you remember me. We met outside my workshop. You were with a Mr. Hurst. I am writing to extend my services. If there is anything you need done, made, delivered or help with- I would be more than happy to do so! We are after all neighbors. Besides, I have the pleasure to make cupcakes for Her Highness little Catherine, and I am a loyal Umbran.
Your Neighbor,
Soren Calestra

Kal'iksix reads the note, careful not to get any of the smudges against her spider silk gown that is currently being altered. She called for the newest scribe to the court and dictated her response.
Dearest Soren,
I DO recall our meeting outside your shop. I have been meaning to contact you about assisting in a commission to decorate our newest building, the barracks. I am glad to see you are eager to assist me in anyway and know it will not be forgotten. I bestow upon you the honor of supplying cakes to celebrate the new year which is to be the Year of the Spider to give to any who may attend the festivities. I look forward to speaking with you again.
Sincerely,
Matron Kal'iksix
The scribe held steady the parchment as Kal'iksix signed her artistic signature and affixed the seal of the house. She then dropped a few gems in the scribes hand and commanded him.
"See that Lady Soren gets this message and give her the gems as a friendly gesture and be quick about it. I need you back to take down my speech. OW! Watch your needles you rothé!" Kal'iksix backhanded the tailor with her heavy jeweled hand. |
