The good news is that for once it isn’t someone you know that is leaving UO! The better news is that the nameless, faceless person who IS retiring wants his old home to go to worthy owner and role-player!

So, up for grabs is an 18x18 home in Malas. The location is at Sextant coordinates 120o 15'N , 28o 37'W, which lies roughly in the L8/L9 area of the RP map that’s here on the site. It does come as-is, including furniture, some items, deco and whatnot that I’ve never had the oomph to sort out after an ill-fated attempt at remodeling. I’ll be cleaning out my personal effects and mementos over the week, but otherwise the rest is yours. As I haven’t actively played in awhile, it also comes with the usual mess of disuse, including (but not limited to) cobwebs and the desperate need of a few new coats of paint!

There is a catch, of course: I’m sentimental. Ideally, I’d like the house to go to someone who’s going to enjoy it and not just part it out on ebay for some cash. Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone on UO anymore who wouldn’t do exactly that. Therefore, since RPing is a thing I’ve always wanted to do but never had the courage for, I’m hoping that it can be given away to someone here in this community that will have a use for it.

Now, as to the contest part? Well, I’m not particularly fond of First Come First Serve. Instead, I’ll be picking the person who gets it. Entry is pretty simple, though. All I’d like to see from you is either a short story about something UO related, or a brief write up on why you’d like the house. Heck, you can even just say, “I want it!” if you’d like, but I'd prefer something more. Just reply to this thread or PM me, but either way please be sure to include some sort of contact information (ICQ/AIM/whatever) before January 7th!

Since it's in the L8/L9 area, Stonegate would be interested in acquiring it, I am sure. The guild has gotten a member surge lately and a lot of players in the guild would kill for a nice house in the territory to keep as their own. I'll list Merci and Myrddin's ICQ's here, and I am sure they will post when they get up/on.

Jon is indeed right and it is simple as to why Stonegate would need it. As it is in our territory and I have had new members that need housing. I have one trying to build a great school for our guild and one that is hosting a large library, both of these are worthy causes that I would like to see slip into houses upon our land.

I invite you to icq me, Merci, (133506832) and I would love to show you if you wish even just what our guild has built and created. (a tour of sorts of our mountain) I dont mean to come off prideful for myself as I am the last to accept praise but I am generous in giving praise and the people of Stonegate have not rested we have worked very hard for a year now. (the 14th is our one year anniversary as a guild.)

Many guilds have tried to make a city in the mountains but ours is working so hard and surpassing my wildest dreams. This is not a plea but a request in that you seem yto wish that your home gets the dignity and respect of good rp. Therefore my ideas surrounding it and what we would do with said home is clear. A building that many Stoneguardians and even our community in general to come can enjoy and use such as a library or school.
