Dealthagar held the missive from Darrien in his hand, reading it over and over. The din of servants and drones rushing around the manor, producing leaflets for the orthons to carry as quickly as they cool...he was surrounded by madness.

He held his balled fists to his temples, shutting his eyes as tightly as he could. The rush of memories returned to his mind's eye. The smell of weapon oil and blood, the sound of gears crushing bone. The screams of the men of Yew as his soldiers tore them apart and fed on thier entrails. Was was coming to Umbra, and he would do all he could to summon those once loyal to him; those who once pledged thier lives, their very souls to him.

A crimson tear rolled down his cheek. "Unity...my brother...if only you could be here at my side. It would be glorious. Nothing could stop us."

Taking a fresh parchment, Dealthagar scribbled a hasty response.

"Lord Church,

By your command.

Dealthagar, Herald of Oblivion"
