A courier arrives at Blackmarsh for Mayor Denzin Bracken from Itannar Darkanor:
"Greetings Mayor Bracken,
I wish to introduce myself to you and hopefully obtain an agreement with you that will be mutually satisfactory for us both.
I am the owner and overseer of a very small estate within the bounds of the territory you recently won in a battle with King Sid of Yew. It is, in fact, the same place where the battle was fought: Alderglen. This small township holds an Academy and several smaller dwellings within a strip of cleared land, a peninsula, that was once known as Pegasus Bay. I have exact coordinates of the entire claimed area that I can share with you upon request.
I suggested to the King that the battle for that district be fought there because of the aid station I could provide to those who were injured and fell in battle. I truth I stood guard at the building during the skirmish. We aided both our own soldiery and those allied to you.
I am writing this to state that I do not wish Alderglen to be considered a subject state or township to Blackmarsh or anyone else for that matter. For our part, we will not use the area to muster troops or indulge in any kind of hostility toward Blackmarsh, just as we will not do the same for King Sid and Yew. In effect, we wish to be considered neutral in any conflicts involving both nations.
That is not to say that I may not be involved in the King's struggles; I plan to be as long as he wishes to maintain control of Yew, Felucca. But what I do shall be detached from any and all associations with Alderglen which is merely a community, not a fort or anything of the kind.
Of course it is within your power to ignore my request and send your troops to raid, kill and plunder my lands if you wish. It is my fervent hope that you will refrain from doing this. If you agree, then I give my word that Alderglen will not only remain neutral, but may be used as an aid station (the Hostel) by those forces under you and your allies (and those of the King, of course). I only wish to protect the lives of innocents who dwell there.
If you wish to meet with me to discuss this, or work out details of a formal treaty, I will gladly attend. My word is good, as I know yours is also.
In Sincerity,
Itannar Darkanor
Sherrif of Yew
Governor of Alderglen" _________________ -The bonds of fellowship are forged in the flames of adversity- |

Dear Itannar,
First off, let me thank you for aiding mine and my allies forces. I'm glad to see there is still some common decency left in those of Sosaria. Along with your desire to be a medical station through out the war for Yew for both mine, my allies and my enemies forces. It's very admiral to offer these tasks.
I can understand you wanting your community to remain detatched from the ruling of Blackmarsh. A General of an army may suggest it unwise to meet your request, and suggest that you could indeed muster up forces within our boarders. However, I'm somewhat open minded. I'm willing to meet your request that Alderglen remains seperate from Blackmarsh, under a few circumstances.
I'm not a violent, ruthless leader, bent on the destruction and conquering of others. As I've stated to several others, I'm merely doing what I and others feel is "just" for Yew. The City wasn't meant to be a Kingdom on it's on. The City wasn't meant to have a King who wasn't fit to lead it. The City has also seen hard times, being left to decay in the darkness of Felucca. Only to be attended to when others wish to take the land from the King. Though I'm greatful that it was saved from the crazed Tarothin Arumunn when he attempted to -conquer- it. As I said before, I merely wish to restore Yew to what it's suppose to be.
With that said, it saddens me that you still wish to aid Sid in his attempts to thwart my benevolent offers. You support him in throwing his troops to almost certain defeat. He doesn't lose a minute of sleep at night, knowing that soldiers will fall because of his greed. You support him in his decision to ask for the help of savage orcs, demons and gargoyles. What will the King do next in his attempt to keep his greedy fingers gripped upon a land he does not deserve? Are you willing to watch him sink to the endless depths of evil to "save" a City that would be better off in the protection of a place like Blackmarsh?
You're completely right. I have the power, the ability and the legal law to "raid, kill and plunder" your lands. However, I'm better than that. As I stated above, I'm not a ruthless conqueror. I'm doing something for -YEW- itself. Not for the sake of taking something from someone, and definitely not for the sake of claiming land.
I feel as though we should meet and discuss these terms a little more indepth. I'm not sure as to exactly when I'll be free this evening, but if you could leave me a carrier pigeon to contact you by, I'd be more than happy to contact you.
Sincerely,
Denzin Bracken
