Thraxas has penned a letter to Mayor Bracken of Blackmarsh and sent it to him:
"Honorable Sir,
My agents have informed me that Blackmarsh will once more invade a locality of Yew very soon. In an effort to avoid needless violence and bloodletting, I wish to meet with your representative at the battlefield prior to any conflict that may ensue. I am well acquainted with Cal Hurst. He and I have met before. If you could, allow him to represent Blackmarsh in the discussion, in lieu of your own presence?
I have not heard from his Majesty the King in a long time. I do not know his whereabouts. I was informed that he was seen in the recent battle near Luna. I have not confirmed this. Regardless, he is incommunicado for some reason or purpose of which I am not aware. Hence, in his absence, I will speak on behalf of Yew, unless he and his forces appear.
Barring that, I will tell you the substance of my conversation: I intend to surrender the district without a fight. I shall command all forces in defense of Yew to return to their homelands; to disperse and not give battle. If they ignore my command it shall be in direct violation of my express will. They will be branded renegades and traitors to the Crown. You may do with them as you will. Those loyal to me and the King will not resist.
However, it may be that you will recognize the livery of the King and his men; the crimson and black. If he is present and means to give battle, I will inform you and retire from the field. I have pleaded with him and thus far it has fallen upon deaf ears. I shall take no part in a pointless battle for land that has been ungoverned for many long years. If this costs me the crown I wear, then so be it. There is no good reason to continue as a political functionary when it is clear my own will is to be superseded on a whim from above. I pray it shall not come to that, but if it does, I am ready.
Please reply at your earliest,
Sincerely,
Thraxas

Regent Thraxas,
I will allow you to speak with my Warlord, Cal Hurst, at the beginning of the battle field. The three of us may meet as both armies march to meet on the field. Although I'm already aware of what our conversation will consist of, it may be nice to exchange words instead of blades.
Let's hope, for all soldiers sake, that your King once again cowares. This will save lives, health, effort and moral. Your forces are tied up with the Luna war as well. They may feel better focusing on the protection of a land that is actually used by the Protectorate. Oppose to a land that someone is gripping tightly with their cold fingers.
If your King and his forces show up to "protect" and by protect I of course mean "have senseless battle" then they will be dealt with. You're very logical. I respect your decisions and your out look on this entire situation. I also appreciate the effort you've put forth on behalf of everyone, to try and make this transition more smooth.
See you soon.
Sincerely,
Denzin Bracken
