|
Sir,
Please indulge me, as we have never been introduced, I fear the start of this letter may prove to be rife with preamble, and may meander in it's intent. Know that I do have a point to make, but more importantly, a proposition. So, if I have not lost your attention to this point, allow me to share a bit of history, and what I know of you.
I have heard you called 'Jouster' in many different circles. I have even heard you respond to the moniker as though it were a name you were born to, and yet for the life of me, I cannot place a definitive reason as to why.
The few people I have asked, respond with a vague memory of you winning this or that joust in Umbra some years ago. Now the veracity of this statement is very much clouded to me, and certainly you could further edify me on it, but what I -do- know to be truth, is that your name (and nickname) continue to reap prestige in a sport I feel I have more than a little skill in. The fact that not only have I never broke lances with you, but have never even -seen- you at any tournament I have ever tilted in, rankles me to no end.
To further illustrate the honor heaped upon your name, when asked who he thought would win Moonglow's Finneas the Goatherd tournament, despite having several of his fellow Sanctans competing, Davaran Skyfire thought either Isk or 'Jouster' would take top prize. An astounding accomplishment considering you were, again, not named in the lists.
Now, I had, in tournaments prior, unseated Magnate Isk not once, or twice, but thrice, so perhaps he was due, but apparently the very thought of the prowess of 'Jouster' would be enough to rob me of the adulation of the crowd...as you had won a tourney "some years ago."
This I put to you in the interest of honorable competition: I have a sack of blackrock that says you cannot best me in a joust. For all your accolade, deserved or no, you have no real claim to your childish pet-name. It is pure hubris. Saying this, if I can defeat you, you will forever cease referring to yourself as 'Jouster' and correct other people when they call you so.
If these terms suit you, and you have an interest in casting a shadow that may actually be deserved, please respond. We can sit and work out any rules to be applied, and you may be interested in the quality of said sack of blackrock.
Until then,
Arahim |

* Jouster awakes as he does every morning at 6 and pounces after a mouse exiting his home. He misses and the mouse escapes*
*as he lay there grumbling his eyes turn to a rolled scroll just inches from his step. Still prone, he unravels, reads, and registers*
*a reply is penned and handed to a man standing outside Trinsic's moongate*
"Dear Sir,
I have no idea what you're talking about, so as long as this satchel of blackrock is not common miner loot, we have a deal" _________________
