The storm tossed the ship wildly raging on and on buffeting the front of the Highwater II with gusto. Her mast had cracked she hadnt long left in her when the swirling mass of water dragged her forward to the treacherous reef.

Kelei Kil'ana, the daughter of Merci d'rue, pulled off her hat putting it atop his young head. Taking the charm from her bow and placing it at his waist she shot a quick arrow at the rope holding the small row boat. Crowley was yelling at her. Come on Capn! Times running short... we are gonna lose er'

Satchel and small child were shoved at Crowley both of them losing balance and falling overboard. Landing with a splash in the water next to the small row boat. He grabbed the boy he lunged inside it and dragged their wet bodies aboard.

He looked up and saw her eyes... the fire from the hold below mirroring in them. She called out in the drow her father had taught her long ago...

Zhaun dosst ilharn, 'zil Usstan zhaunau usst. Usstan ssinssrigg dos..

There was no time he lunged over the boy as the fire hit the explosives in the bottom hold, timber cracked, fire raged and her silhouette stayed there against the night sky..as they drifted farther away, the boy struggling and crying out for his mother, Crowley holding onto him tightly. The ship, the beautiful Highwater II sinking into the ocean...

The Dread Arrow had fallen to the sea that she loved. Nothing could be more fitting for her death. Yet now there was the small, motherless, boy who had at last given way to tears and exhaustion. Falling fast asleep clucthing the arrow and lock of his mother and grandfathers intertwined hair. Curled up tightly in the bottom of the rowboat.

When the world is dark and bright,
I can see her in the night,
Me wondrous beauty of the sea,

White hair flowing there,
Her bright blue eyed stare
Dread Arrow, Queen of the Sea,

I loved her once alone
Yet from my grasp she's Flown,
I still see her silken skin within my memories,
Dread Arrow come home to me...

Homare was a land of beauty and danger.. and Merci sat among flower scented garden. Creatures exotic in nature abounded and the bright colors of the celebration loomed around them.

From time to time, well wishers and those would rather see her dead wandered by. Yet, time seemed numb and frozen. This was surely a test of Merci's Fortitude. She did as asked and smiled what little she could as the evening progressed, her heart aching.

It had been but hours before as she stared at the white haired boy, that Myrddin the Wolf King of Stonegate had put his arm in consolement fashion around the Oracle. These two friends hit with sadness that rocked them to their core.

Death was a part of a warriors life but it made it no less easy to bare when it was one you loved. Merci was often teased about the number of children she had, yet now...she had one less. The small boy with lost eyes spoke to the heart of the Oracle.

To not know the faces around you.. to be lost in a sea of unrecognizable faces, all who knew so much about you, more than even you knew.

Now the Oracle lay, freshly married with the wonder of her new life before her, and though Bishimi had tried to console his new bride he knew the loss she must travel thru in order to see the happiness of the world again. Her bed felt like an odd foreign object her room spun around her with dark memories black thoughts.

She was strong..but a mother should not have to bury her child.. Here it was again that Merci lived and another died and she trusted that there must be some purpose to it. There must be some reasoning behind destinys cruel hand this day. Pain deep and long hidden erupted inside her making her cry out remembering the days when she killed to ease it, when she was barely a peice of humanity and emotion now racked her soul. Years of suppression and lack of balance filling her she began to pay an ultimate price.

For she was not immortal and she was still bound to the laws of humanity.

Mother..I just cant do this... not Kelei..she was everything to him.

Her thoughts went back to those days long ago when Kel held the small infant against him and hummed a drow lullaby to her. (most likely it consisted of death and battle but that was his way). Those were moments that she would never forget..

The notice came to her as she harvested her precious resources, the smell of parchment and ink blending with the scents of foxglove and nightshade. Setting the plants on the ground, she sat, reading the news. Past that, her mind froze.

Kelei, who marrified her and Tay so many years ago. The girl she looked up to, and wanted to emulate. The teenager who took all the girls on a ship, set for worlds unknown, and embraced her more unusual ideas. She was so close to a flying ship. Who was she to finish it for? With an unusual solemn face, Ciara picked up the fallen plants, and brought them into the apothecary. She set them on the table and moved to the chest, her movements almost automatic. She opened the chest to take out an odd ship that was floating in mid-air. She took the ship out and placed it down on a table, grabbed an arrow from the side and placed one rose down next to it. I tiny memorial for the Dread Arrow.

*Observing Stonegate from his tower Lestat watched as others paced around the city, there bodies showing signs of tragedy he felt somthing had effected Merci greatly, though his anger large there bond had been unbreakable till recently. He continued to pace thinking of all of the events that have transpired in a short time frame.. He then hung his head and let out a sigh at that moment he stopped walking in circles and just sat on his roof and observed the city till dawn*
