evil5 ~The Wards~ evil5

Austin De’Chevia rubbed his chin with a furled brow and an enigmatic expression. His face showed neither sorrow nor happiness, pain or pleasure, twas simply a blank abyssal stare. His gaze fixed, form without, upon the ancient storage chamber exterior for the Book of Destiny. Suddenly, he snapped out of that eerie trance. His shoulders slightly motioned to a noise, growing ever loud, ever present, and soon became a steady howl.

The strange, ancient chants were not clearly audible to him; however Austin could pick out words here and there. These words seem to unfold only a portion of the current ward system in place that strongly contained its wealth. The Book of Destiny could not be reached, he concluded, save those to whom its trust was placed. The mage however was indeed able to gather from the high security, a logical and hopefully seamless, impregnable ward as a suitable new resting place for the great artifact was required.

Austin had been instructed to attempt to formulate a plan to provide and equally if not more sturdy facility worthy of the Book of Destiny. Lady Arcana, making it quite clear that she trusted him to perform same with due diligence and great secrecy for this matter was exceedingly crucial to The Knights of Sosaria. This was his first real task, as far as guild functionality was concerned, and Austin intended to leave no room for mistrust, insecurity, or lack of his competence.

Gathering what data he could and pouring over countless incarnations, evocations, and numerous other schools of wizardry or the arcane arts, he closed a leather-bound spell book with a smile, and then used his inscription skills to etch in cryptic form, the plan for said locks, chambers, wards, and quite frankly, a bizarre puzzle of security fathomed by few. Austin then concluded a coven, or channel of power was required to perform this great working. This required no less than three, six, or nine mages. At least 50% of the current Knights of Sosaria must be present, as the ancients seemed to indicate. He could not do this alone, but however was able to form what seemed a noteworthy complex of security that would be as good, even better than the ancient guardians had placed.

The Three’s Option was less dangerous, more efficient, and less of an enigma, thus he planed to stress due recommendations to lady Arcana for this. There were other options he would present, only if need be.

-A coven of 3 would provide strong, adequate protection for The Book, but was not totally infallible. High cost in regs and gems. Total working time for completion 1 week, and a day.

-A coven of 6 would provide the most efficient, equaled protection now in place within The Book’s chambers. Very Expensive, exceedingly, but not illogical expenditure in regs and gems. Total Completion time 3 weeks, and 4 days.

-A coven of 9 would supercede and provide the greatest protection that could be mustered in Soasria, but would be quite an undertaking, and cost a fortune in regs, gems, and gold. Total completion time 2 months, a week, and 6 days.

There were two other options, which he did not notate on at this point, as he had studied the three’s more than the other magi’s. The Five Point system was practical, and very strong, betwixt the level of 6 & 9. This however was far less efficient, took more time, and a lot more mumbo jumbo. This option would tire the casters, and the process would likely drag on for several months

The Four Guardians was also an option, providing a level of security equal to that between 3&6. Austin knew very little of this working, but he did know it required a lot of travel and could easily backfire. This option was dangerous for the casters.

He then proceeded to discuss his plans with Arcana.

(Arieus appeared ill, and also would not go near the damn stuff and pretty much ran off when Austin started all this weird sheeyut)
