So I am suffering from an acute disorder known as Blank Slate Syndrome. This affliction occurs when someone is faced with an opportunity in which there are just too many possible options to choose from. In this regard, I am suffering from two separate cases of Template Blank Slate Syndrome.

I have already gotten quite a bit of helpful feedback, but still am interested in hearing other ideas as well. I have two characters, and since my knowledge of skills these days is very limited (the last thing I remember being implemented really was necromancy and chivalry), I am unsure as to what templates for them would be fun and effective.

The first character is my gargoyle melee. Right now his template is (going to be, anyway) this:

120 swords
100 tactics
100 anatomy
100 healing
100 parrying
100 bushido
60 chivalry
20 focus/med/or possibly put into one of the above skills.

A fairly straightforward bushido warrior type template with chivalry thrown in for added utility, namely remove curse, remove poison, close wounds, divine fury, and sacred journey.

I was also contemplating a necro warrior build (which may be more appropriate for being in OES) along the lines of this:

120 swords
100 tactics
100 anatomy
100 healing
100 spirit speak
100 necromancy
100 parry/resist/or meditation.

Would a build like this be any good these days? If so, what would the best 7th skill be? Also, which melee build would be better for pvp and/or pvm, the bushido build or necromancy build? And how should the stats be balanced for these builds? Mana seems like a big problem in either case.

Secondly, for my other character, I wanted a caster. He is human, so naturally has the 20 in each skill thing going on for him. I was thinking possibly something along the lines of this:

100 magery
100 evalutate intelligence
100 meditation
100 wrestling
100 mysticism (is this good to combine with magery?)
100 focus
100 resist/parry (not sure which is better for a caster, or if something else would be better).

OR replacing mysticism and focus with necromancy and spirit speak for a necro mage. Do they work out these days?

I am pretty poor right now, so my gear won't be top knotch arties or anything like that, but hopefully I will get something pulled together before too long. Any advice/feedback/suggestions regarding these templates? Thanks!

One of our OES folks uses a similar build to this. Instead of 120 swords, he did 110 Tactics and 110 Swordsmanship. As cramped as the Necrodexxer build is, you're going to have to pick and choose amongst Parry/Resist/Med if you're dead set on keeping healing and anat.
