It wasn't stiffness. It wasn't really pain. The tendrils and wisps of smoke and shade curled and dismembered themselves without feeling. There was no cohesion. Her will was not strong enough to pull them all together. Tierna's "Lesson's" had never been conventional. And with the less than flesh and blood form she currently had, they had gotten more inventive. Her thoughts, slightly disconnected from her body, raked over the more recent weeks. Admittedly she was reckless, even wild, once upon a time. But those years were long past. The last 7 or so had seen her grounded and settled in. The emotional outburst in regards to Soren was not the Bryelle she had come to be. Something about that time, that situation, had heightened every piece of anger she felt. Every protective instinct was in full swing. The result had been stupidity trumping her actions in spades.
She didn't really regret what she had done or said. Regret was a fool's game. No point in torturing yourself when there were plenty of other individuals more than willing to do it for you. Her mouth turned in the grim direction at that thought. It's a good thing Tierna knew very little of the Herald of Oblivion. Her "inventive" teaching methods would increase exponentially if she had any closer of contact. That was not a Tierna, Bryelle ever wanted to see come to fruition.
With every ounce of willpower she had left Bryelle forced her form back together. It was difficult and it was time consuming. What would have taken 2 seconds was taking 20 minutes. This could have been avoided. "Maybe I just need to recenter myself," she thought. Her place in the Order was the only thing she cared about now. To maintain that she was gong to have to regain her focus. She could not afford for her emotions to flood her in that manner again. She needed only calm calculation of facts, knowledge and reasoning. She may be Kabar'gan, but she was also a wraith. And wraith was all about purpose and knowledge. Time for the scales to balance once more. _________________ Ariana Lenoir[3:53 pm] She has all the subtlety of a rampaging elephant. |

Bryelle stood facing Charnel Hill atop the Scholomance. Her eyes gazed across the horizon. Two words floated in and out of her conciousness, Breathtaking and Temporary. Oblivion cared nothing for beauty. Oblivion cared nothing for ugliness. It was what it was. The words of the Entropic Chant were accurate. You could only embrace it. It was a fool's errand to try and outrun it. It was a game to some. It seemed to be just that with the Sanctuns, the Lycans, and the other numerous creatures that roamed Sosaria. It would not be that way for Bryelle.
Magus Izrem had stood side by side with her, gazing out into Umbra. Each of his words soaked into her smoke and vapors as if lacing her with understanding. Bryelle knew better than to take his wisdom lightly. Finding her purpose rested on her shoulders squarely. He was right about that. He was right about practically everything. It was one of the things Bryelle had come to depend on since her entrance into The Order.
When the conversation had finished Bryelle calmly and quietly took her leave. Hidden in shadow and smoke she wandered Umbra for the rest of the evening. Having experienced death she was a step closer to Oblivion than most. Letting her form swirl and curve in the wind, Bryelle felt the elements. Even they were temporary. And that is where her next step would start. _________________ Ariana Lenoir[3:53 pm] She has all the subtlety of a rampaging elephant. |

Purpose. Bryelle had debated this topic up, down, back, front, deep, shallow and beyond. Existance was temporary. What mattered were the lessons left behind. The knowledge. Bryelle gazed at the announcement, one of many put up by The Herald. Was history not repeating itself? Did Magus Izrem not teach these very same lessons prior to her own entry into the Kabar'gan. It seems everything had come full circle. And with it, the loss of the honesty behind those same lessons and their impact with her kind.
Bryelle would not make that mistake. Beyond the borders of Umbra, those of this regal city were unwelcome. And now, even inside the borders it would seem all was not as it appeared. Her gaze shifted down to her hand and watched as she voluntarily let it billow in the breeze. Once, not long ago it had been flesh and blood and occasionally fur. Death had changed that, Oblivion and the entropic forces she was learning to command, had changed that.
Temporary. Bryelle's life in Umbra had been temporary, her thirst for knowledge would be eternal. Silently Bryelle turned around and headed with finality out of umbra. In less than a flash she had faded into bits and pieces, coalescing with the dark _________________ Ariana Lenoir[3:53 pm] She has all the subtlety of a rampaging elephant. |
