The sun was barely hanging in the air as Isk stepped into the meeting room of Covenant Castle holding a warm coffee in his gloved hand. He was greeted with Thraxas, Malo, Tai and Ellesbeth who where already waiting and sitting around this sweet looking stone table.

“Hey guys” Isk said cordially as if he were at a bar, bobbing his head towards the group and lowering himself on one of those cool looking garish chairs but pretending he didn’t like it. “Sorry I’m late, was scanning posts for my name.”

“No problem. So what’s on the agenda?” Malo asked with an eager lean as Isk set down his coffee.

Thraxas set his papers on the table and fingered a pen before looking at the masked Magnate and Director of the Maritime Union, “We did the trade with Tokuno, so next is talk of the gargoyles we recruited in the guild”

Isk sank down in his seat and let his arms drop to the sides of it like a stubborn child refusing to eat supper while he brooded over the idea. The very thought of gargoyles gave him the taste of not cool in his mouth. “Ugggh, people know I’m still Humanis right?” he questioned.

“What’s that?” Ellesbeth asked with the tilt of her head.

“It means he hates elves” Malo responded. “There are almost no elves in the alliance Isk” he reassured with a smile.

Thraxas shook his head, “No it means he hates all nonhumans and is super duper pro human”

“Ah, still doing the old sorta-evil gig…” Ellesbeth chimed while Tai who has said nothing so far shifted anxiously in his seat as if looking for the right time to explode.

“Yea, I’ll have to show dissatisfaction with it or people will pigeon me saying I’m not the same old Isk anymore” the director stated lazily. “It’s a chore, anyway we should just use the gargoyles as…”

“Isk-sama!!!” Tai shouted as he rose from his seat with a jump “The gargoyles have flown into my lands and assaulted my great aunt! I demand a trial!”

The hard sound of grinding teeth permeated the room as Isk reached for his coffee so that he could burry the lips of his mask to the rim of the cup, a strategic move to detach himself from a conversation that would surely last.

“I tied them to the assault by Sanctus and Umbra, It is my belief that you three are working in conjunction to not only slander my family but claim all the secrets and riches of my clan. This runs deep man… this goes all the way back to the Protectorate and the vampires and mercenaries man. Its like you’re all setting me up but justice prevails over all so consider yourselves served!”

30 minutes later…

“Alright, now that Tai has stormed out and the Presidium agreed to start using the gargoyles to harass great aunts what’s next on the agenda?”

“Possible trade with Umbra” Thraxas said as his eyebrows rose towards Isk who sat across the table. “Third attempt”

“Ok, why don’t you bring some gargoyles with you and see if they will speak with us Thra…”

“I’ll lead it!” Malo said with a raised voice. “I’ll go to Umbra, sign a contract with Darrien and all that. Solo style” He waved his hands nonchalantly.

Isk coughed as he felt the now cold black coffee trek through his nasal passage. He lifted his free gloved hand and held it out in a ‘stop’ demand. Thraxas’ eyes darted back and forth from Isk to Malo. Adding to the drama.

“Isk are you alright?” Ellesbeth asked with nervous compassion. She was fearful of another argument stirring.

“Malo you sure that’s a good idea?” Thraxas leaned towards Malo with a frown on his face. “I mean you are great and all but Darrien and you, well.”

[Its not a good idea man] Isk OOCed

[Why not?]

[Isk you said you’d make an IC post on this meeting right?] Thrax OOCed in failed effort to deflect the conversation away from this doomed topic.

[Are you being serious?]

[Well I’m in the community so I can go there and RP legitly]

By this time Mariah had entered the room and sat down just to see bracket talk fill her personal space.

[I thought this was an IC meeting?] she OOCed

[Yea I was just playing a joke on these guys saying I’ll lead a trade group to Umbra.] Malo OOCed in response.

“…”

[Christ dude, please don’t do that anymore LOL] Isk OOCed.

“I joke” Malo said as he slipped into In Character. “But a journey to Umbra could be worth the time”

Isk nodded. “Aye but any more of this and I’ll lose my mind”

Ellesbeth grinned “Crazy Isk. That might be interesting to see.”

Isk frowned and shifted uncomfortably “You know what guys? This is just like it was last year with me. I’m not acting like myself and you guys are not yourselves either. Its like this is some giant joke that makes no sense.”

“Yea” Thraxas nodded.

CRASH!!!!

“Whoa what is that?!?!” Ellesbeth pointed to the open roof as a sinister shadow overcame them.

“A giant lobster!!!”

Isk awakened with a cold sweat. He rose with an abrupt jolt and shook his head as he glanced to his Utopia pipe.

“Bad trip… mother f@%&^ng Utopia”
