Pull back, yank forward and let it fly.
Livvie stood on the shore of Skara Brae, just north of the moongate with a fishing pole gripped tighly in her hand. She had been casting for the last hour and all she had managed to pull out where a pair of boots, and 3 fish. Trying to look at the fact that it could have been NO fish at all, she kept going. The feast was tomorrow night and fish was a side dish.
Patience was a must have in fishing. Unfortunately unless it was wrestling with her Brothers and trying to wear them out, Livvie didn't have any anywhere else. With a huge sigh she let the line fly once more and watched as it dropped into the deep blue water. Within a minute or two she felt a tug and began to reel it in. Up and out though, did not come a small fish as she was expecting. Instead a pair of rustic leather sandals were on the end of her hook. quickly she extracted them and with a loud Whump began smacking the water out of them on a nearby rock.
Quickly Livvie extracted herself from her thigh high boots. They did they trick but she had always hated them. Barefoot was preferable to her but not possible in the snow of Stonegate like it was in the grass of Trinsic. Once the sandals were as free from water as they were going to get she slipped them on. She may have to try out this whole patience idea. Expecially when it came with shoes. |
