Another empty tankard slammed against the bar, Sotel raising his hand to signal for another. Tarewin shook his head, filling another at the tap.
" Yeh cannae imagine it friend.. 'S not saah much tha' they slew meh, Ah'm used tah tha'.. But poor Queklian ahn Meliadoul? Ah mean tha' poor beasties was roped up outside! They could nae be more a threat if they be a bunch of flitterin' pixies!" The drunken druid let slur, his voice a fluctuation of rage and sorrow. A small smirk crossed Tarewin's lips as he tried to decipher his friends speech, setting down another set of tankards on the bar, sipping from one himself.
The sound of muttering came from Sotel as he attempted to speak while drinking, the large mug spilling ale across his face and down his robes. Setting down the half empty drink, white foam clung to his beard, and flew along with spit as he scoffed more so to the gods than his new found sympathetic ear. "Yeh should 'ave seen em.. Quek's poor little pincers lyahn on tha ground, Mel fell over like ah sick ol' ass. Dahmed Necromancers... Ahm tellin' yeh friend, ahm not sure 'ow the' 'ad so many soldiers Tha Skull 'ad ohn tha field, but Ah'll get em back oh by tha Divine ye worship Tarewin, Ah'll kill em all!. Slayin' of tha innocent is somethin' ah cannae take lightly. Somethin' ah will not take lightly!" Staggering to his feet, Sotel pulled down his hood in an awkward form of acknowledgment to the paladin.
" Do not be rash my friend, rest and wait.. You will have justice for them, but for now simply be glad you could keep hold of their souls." Rising and giving Sotel a shoulder to learn on, along with a steady walk free of snow drunks back to The Line, Tarewin leaned in close to whisper in his friends ear as if belaying some dark secret. " Besides, I've heard you found 'him' finally not much longer now eh?"
A small grunt, the only response he would give to the question as the door to tavern slammed, and they began their walk home through the snow. All does crumble in it's own time... _________________ The only privilege of Rank is the power to serve. |
