She was vastly uncomfortable. She stared at the slave Marguth and then looked down at her hands. He had many slaves but Marguth was his favorite, she had been told. Her drow mind worked keenly, swiftly, over all the ramifications extracting the meanings from it but ultimately leaving her in confusion.

It was not that she had a fondness for Marguth's race. She really had not met such creatures before and so in general had no feeling about them whatsoever. It was the word Slave that taunted her, haunted her. It was Ironic that her new leader spent all his days wearing a mask, but she was the one with the hidden face. It wasnt that she was against slavery, how odd for one that had been a slave but still the word seemed to call from some dark place.

She felt it keenly so now as she sat amongst them, accepted and welcomed. A drow that was suppose to be here. Yet she still felt out of place. Like she was walking among beings much higher than herself. She was not raised with the treachery of her mothers clan, nor was she raised with the nobleness of these drow. She wasnt sure quite where she belonged. She new she could not speak of it to them for then she would immediately be below them. She knew she must hold her tongue silent and act like she should be here.

Yet was it not so long ago that she was clothed in rags and bringing a tray of food to her human masters? Was it not long ago that she had been beaten endlessly, leered at and chased. No it had not been so long but each day pulled her more from that life and that feeling into a new one.

Her chin raised an inch, would she like to go back there? Did she think she belonged there? Did she truly think she was below the other drow? She would not accept these thoughts, she was Sinylene, House Arabana and she had pride that had been engrained into her very flesh. She would not shame herself by feeling this way, she would not let the worthlessness of her life before engulf her.

She looked at the bow, that Mairsil had given her, placed in her hand, he had told her, now you will fight back Sinylene. She would, she would fight back against that which she once was, and become what she should be. What she had always been intended by the hand of Chaos to be. She would live for the cause that her brother died for.....
