"Sorceress and cook, Livvie Dell!" She said it aloud and finished it off with a whistle. "That's a mouthful." Silently she added the title of Mommy to the list. With Jhaelra in her life, it was certainly accurate. Blowing an errant strand of hair from her eyes she returned her concentration to the mound of dough in front of her. Silently she cursed Korin, as he was the reason her rolling pin was missing. Pushing, pulling and kneading with her bare hands instead, she shaped it into a loaf of bread and placed it in the oven.
A smile crossed her face as she thought of Ebon and what he would say at the news she had been promoted. As quickly as it came, it went for she frowned at the fact that he hadn't been there to see it. He kept busy and was gone often, so his lack of attendance hadn't surprised her. It just meant she would have that much more to tell him when she saw him again. Perhaps another overnight stay at his house...or maybe she would even suprise him and be waiting for him when he got home.
This week was going to be busy. With the preparations for Zari and Draven's wedding, turning in her Yew homework, teaching Jhaelra the basics of cooking and continuing her training in the arcane; she had her hands full. Dusting off her apron she turned toward the bags of sugar and the cocoa pulp. The spread for the wedding was to be both extravagant and varied. There would be chocolate, chicken, ant lion, elemental pie, elemental goulash, Boura chops, roast pig, cheese pizza, and a host of desserts. Taking one floured hand she reached for a quill and parchment to quickly jot down the list of things she would be needing.
Draven had already seen to it that she have pears on top of the cocoa and sugar bags he had dropped off. She had to give it to them. They were a very helpful couple. She put the quill back down and turned back to the flour covered kitchen. "One down, about a thousand other things to go!" |
