Hosting the night at the Double Dagger had been successful. The servant girl had done a decent job and Shri assumed she had taken possession of the afore promised room. In a move reminiscent of The Drow Lord Himself, Shri'hrae tapped her staff three times and watched it disappear in a cloud before sitting down to her desk. Pulling out a quill she set about unfinished business.

"Vendui Rufus Oryan,

Usstan z'reninth dos ruebuss uns'aa natha talthalra. 'zil folt, Usstan tlun plynnithus pholor nindel heen. Qualla detholar natha draeval lu' Usstan orn detholar natha k'lar.

Shri'hrae
Viceroy d' Buc's Dun"

Greetings Rufus Oryan,

I believe you owe me a meeting. As such, I am writing on that course. Please choose a time and I will choose a place.

Warm wishes,

Shri'hrae
Viceroy of Buc's Den

Handing the letter to Dal'bak, her servant, she bid him make haste.

Rufus had grown fond of the reflecting pool just inside the palace walls. Quick footsteps followed by a low voice caught his attention. A young fellow who worked about the palace bowed his head slightly and approached Rufus quickly, handing him a parchment, "A letter came for you Sir. The messenger just left it with me, and I brought it directly to you." Rufus smiled and nodded, "Thank you very much...I shall tend to it." He studied the parchment and made his way to a bed room with a small desk in the corner. He took his seat, grabbing his quill and letting out a loud breath. He tapped his lip for a moment, wrapping his mind around the writings before beginning. The language was not as fluent to him as Elvish texts, but he could translate and write just fine...

Vendui',

Jallil Shri'hrae, usstan tlun gladare ulu rhseev dosst ly'ryus. Usstan tlun ves sae'uth bauth udossta talthalra lu'Usstan xun naut daewl ulu offend a feithin natha klew'ar velendev. Greetings,

Lady Shri'hrae, I am glad to receive your letter. I am very pleased about our meeting and I do not wish to offend by waiting a moment longer. Perhaps you are available this evening? I have so many questions. Just name the place, and I shall be there. I am sure a woman such as yourself does not have time to waste so, I shall make haste in meeting with you.

In Balance,

Rufus Oryan

"I enjoyed my short conversation with her so much before...I wonder where this will take me. I cannot wait." Rufus stood slowly, taking up the parchment in his hand to give to his messenger.

Tasks completed and meetings attended to, Shri'hrae sat quietly once again in her office. Tomorrow would be a new day with new complications. For now, she would see to one of today's bright spots. With enthusiasm she penned one last note for the evening.

"Ussta sel abbil,

My New Friend,

The day has gone by with many thoughts of our meeting. I find that I am looking forward to continuing it. As before brought up, I believe you would enjoy a day on one of our ships. I am working on that as I write. I do hope that is still alright.

Shri

Handing the meticulously scrawled note to Dal'bak she once again bid him to make haste. This particular correspondant was of high value to her. With the hint of a smile at her lips she wondered if her new friend was equally as excited. Perhaps her many topics this afternoon had held his interest. As far as range went, they had a lot in common. "We shall see," she whispered quietly to the walls. "We shall see."

Rufus walked into his office, his desk filled with parchments from the previous evenings Maritime meeting, neatly stacked in well organized piles. He notices a elegant parchment positioned neatly in the center of the piles. He smiles for a moment, picking it up slowly and reading it aloud. He took his seat, grabbing a blank piece of paper amongst the piles, and began to write....

Jallil Shri'hrae,

I have also thought much about our meeting. I thank you for the conversation. It was a pleasure to speak with someone with such intellect and charm. I would love to see one of your ships, as long as I find myself in your company. I await your message regarding our next meeting, Fair lady.

In balance,

Rufus Oryan

Rufus called for the messenger, taking in a deep breath as he began to work. His evening was filled with several pauses, and thoughts of the last meeting.

Shri stood on the shore watching the tillerman wash down the boat. Normally she liked to assist in the mundane chores but today her head was cloudy with things she needed to do, had done, and would be doing in the future. Dressed once more in her armor instead of the red backless outfit from last night, she contemplated taking the same route they had the prior evening. His description of Magincia had intrigued her. Part of her longed to see it as it had been in it's hayday. She may not agree with the Humanis viewpoint, but architecture was architecture. And she could appreciate it for its asthetic value. The same held true with Lord Blackthorne's castle. Now that she had seen the view of the office as it overlooked the water, she knew she would be making several trips back. From over her shoulder she called her servant to take a letter. He nodded politely and began to jot down her every word.

"Vendui,

Senger Rufus, L'zigh d'Lord Blackthorne's Castle zhah mal'rak wun ussta ak'nen. Ol zhahus ssin'urn. Usstan lor fau'lad ulu dosst iglata d'mziln draeval ul'naus.

Grettings,

Lord Rufus, The image of Lord Blackthorne's castle is forever in my brain. It was beautiful. I look forward to your promise of additional time together.

You know the stakes. The bet is to you. Do you care to call or to raise?

Shri'hrae"

With narrowed eyes the servant politely interrupted her. "Are you sure you wish to use common for that last piece?"

"Yes. I am sure. He will understand." With the hint of a smile on her lips she remembered his words of "Pardon me.." Yes, he would understand.

Rufus sat alone in the dark desert of Nujel'm. The cool night air contrasted the hot temperature of the day. Generally, he would find himself sitting just on the outskirts, but this time he had traveled further into the desert. He was not lost in a sense, for he had packed supplies and needed to clear his thoughts a bit. He had set up camp just hours before, and as he sat in the sand, his bare feet pressing against the soft sand he unraveled several sheets of parchment and using a burned piece of wood; he began to scribble.

Vendui',

Evagna ussta draeval tu'fyr missives. Ussta dalharuk zhahus attacked wanune, lu'Usstan tlun fridj finding draeval ulu soh'rad.
Usstan xun ruebuss dos mzild draeval lu'Usstan iglata ulu deliver

Please forgive my error, for I feel it is not in the best of taste. Currently, I am in the desert of Nujel'm and have little room for error as I am limited on parchment. Many escape to woodlands, or mountains; and I find peace in the desert.

I feel that I have taken far to long to respond to one with such beauty, and I pray that your beauty and wit are paired with patients. I could not wait another moment, for finding my way back to the Palace could come in a nights time, but sending your missive is the first thing I wish to do. With that, I hoped to have it prepared.

I do indeed wish to take the opportunity to spend more time with you. In my travel back to the Palace, I will surely dream up a grand place for us to visit.

I fear I am far too unlucky to gamble, so I do create my own odds most oft. If the prize is your interest, I will go to Great lengths to win that.

Usstan orn wussrun'wa d'dos nindol isto. Nindel ssiggrin orn mrigg uns'aa delmah.

In Balance,
Rufus Oryan

Rufus rolled up his parchment, staring at the sky for a moment before picking up another blank sheet. He took in a deep breath, placing the letter to the side. He grinned a bit, moving his feet atop the sand. He sat fire to his small piece of wood and blew out the flame, taking to another piece of parchment.

Greetings,

Forgive my time between missives. My son was attacked, and I am just finding time to respond.
I do owe you more time and I promise to deliver

Hidden:
I will dream of you this night. That thought will guide me home.
