Matters of the heart were never easy, so as she conisdered what course of action to take she pondered all the ramifications and dangers to herself and to her clan. Kaylor was her friend but his hasty retreat from a marriage he had weeks prior so devoutly wished for was unsettling. She had tried to justify, to understand his motives. Yet no matter what, she arrived at the same conclusion. Fiona. Regardless no mental pain could be appeased, it was the way to resolve such issues. To settle such bad blood within the clan in what was now a test upon them.

The Blood Debt. They would duel, the blood would be repaid, and then they would move on. Myrddin had granted it thus. So it would be.

Then it would be over.

Her expressions torn as she removed her clothing descending in her bath of icy water, it froze with every step she took deeper, for now for this she would perform. For this she would hold her duty to her family. The debt would be repaid.

The icy air flowed from her hands and out the door,
carried upon the winds... unto his door.

Forget not loves twisted path,
Forget me not and loves wrath,

When morning breaks upon the land
Cold bites of Steel within my hand.

Yet softer there I shall recall,
The look within his eyes when he doth fall,

Burned into my mind, Etched in my soul
For duties sake I will pay thy toll.

For her sake and my woe,
Let him go..

The debt shall be repaid..
Each drop of blood never to fade...

A weapon lays upon the ground..

His Blood drips off it into the fallen snow...

Written in the blood in front of Fionas home..

A simple word left by Merci.

Paid...

Fiona walked outside and stopped, looking down at the snow. She breathed a sigh of relief as she took in the profound meaning behind the single word written in blood. After a few moments, she pulled a small glass bottle from her pack and bent down, scooping up the snow. She gingerly transferred the bloodied snow into the empty bottle and corked it when she was finished.

Fiona held it up and looked at it as the sunlight danced against the snow, making it sparkle. She cast a simple spell to keep it frozen before making her way back inside.
