|
Rashid squirmed about in pain as the Blood-letters tended to his wounds. He had been poisoned and suffered from multiple cuts all over his torso. He had never felt pain such as this, and the eerie looks of satisfaction on the healer's faces was even more unsettling.
Just hours before, he found himself in Sanctus, looking for Ronia Skyfire. When he found Ronia, she stumbled around drunkenly, slurring her words, and adjusting her off balance posture. She mumbled all her words to him, asking about his meditation,
"aarree...yub dun Medibating..? No no no no, I wa..awan an anwer!" Ronia, narrowed her glassy eyes as she spoke.
Rashid gave a stern look, placing his hands at his side, "I will not speak with while you are in this state. When you are ready to talk I will be in Trinsic" A cold chill passed the back of Rashid's neck as an Orc sprung from the low lit corners outside of Hanse's Hostel. He let out a grunt, swiping at Rashid with his weapon. Rashid barely dodged the attack, a bit of his leather armor catching a tear. Rashid backed up, beginning to retreat and as he got several feet away, he thought of Ronia, all alone.
He rushed back to the site. Ronia sat propped up against a wall, her drunkenness in a worsened state. He squatted down to wake her. His breath was loud and nervous. He had little training in actual combat but could not leave Ronia alone. Rashid stood up slowly, checking his surroundings, the Orc reappeared, letting out a loud roar as he drove his poison blade into Rashid's side.
Rashid fell to the ground, wincing in pain. The Orc stood over him, grunting happily. Rashid slowly crawled away making his way toward Umbra.
And now, as he painfully sat upright, leaning forward holding his belly; he imagined his conversation from just moments ago. Ronia, slightly recovered from her drunken state had followed him to Umbra. He had never felt anger before, and in this case he felt it was well directed. Ronia attempted to assist in the healing, offering him bandages and a mixture to aid in the healing process.
"N..No, I dont want your help!.." Rashid shouted.
Ronia looked to him with glassy, sad eyes, "Well then, at least let me bandage you...and if you truly wish me to leave, I shall be on my way..."
Rashid looked to Ronia with an emotionless face, "B..be quick then...It's too late..."
Ronia poured the contents of a small vial onto his wounds before slowly bandaging his torso. The Blood-letters stood and watched, whispering amongst themselves; there faces filled with a hint of entertainment as they watched him shudder in pain. His lip began to quiver, a single tear rolling down his cheek. Ronia reached to his face, wiping his tear,
"I..I am.."
Rashid stopped her, "It..it is too late for that! Yo..You should go..."
Ronia nodded once, turning slowly as her eyes filled with tears. She walked slowly to the exit; Rashid watching her leave with an empty gaze.
He would spend his night in Umbra. Occasionally screaming as the poison ran its course. He knew that he did not belong in Umbra regardless of how he felt there. Regardless of the Healers assisting him; he should contact his Father. _________________ From my Fathers teachings...I shall right the energies of this realm. Balance is my purpose. |

Ronia lost her thought in her water, watching the slight waves swirl with the push of her finger. She was somewhere..at a tavern...with others. A man came in sat across from her but she was so lost in her own thoughts.... Rashid off meditating...she could not really hold it against him she was the one that told him to do it..the longer it took...the more her heart ached..the more she felt he abandoned her. Then there was Bryce.. who did abandon her...yes perhaps for a good cause but still he left. Then there was her family.... feeling distant from them..when they were around..and yet missing them when they were not. Which as of here lately was alot of the time. When her focus finally came to the here and now, that was when she noted the stranger across from her. As they spoke, she found out he was a friend of such with Rufus and Rashid. Rashid was even named after the man, then he asked her about Rashid. Her mouth burned for whatever reason this seemed to push her over the invisible ledge that was there.
"How should I know? Last I know he is off meditating on his feelings for me."
And I dont know why he is meditating cause obviously I already know the answer....she thought to herself. For the length of time that it took for him to meditate on his feeling for her..anyone that has to take THAT long ...answer is obvious, there was nothing there for him. Rashid got up and left, and she was alone with two humanis which she didn't really want to deal with. The woman upon hearing her trips to Bucs Den nearly pleaded with her not to continue her trips there. She got up and left back to Sanctus... as she rode, the feeling of despair and abandonment continues to swell with in her, she couldn't stand it, so she went to attack the brigand that were causing chaos near Sanctus. After getting a few of them and in return suffering from blows at their end. This fight, however, did not dwindle the feelings she felt creeping up...ones that she felt made her weak. She went to the Hansel and without realizing it, she ordered an ale. Perhaps subconsciously she was wanting to forget the feelings she was having. She eventually drank the ale she had bought which went straight to her brain. It was not within a few moments, she was buzzing and drunk by the end of her bottle. After several slurred conversations she eventually passed out, outside the tavern in a small grassy knoll. She awoke, after some time passed, to a pounding head, and a blood trail. She was not sure why she felt a need pulling at her to follow it. She called for her steed and slowly she followed the trail, not realizing that it ended at the bloodletters in Umbra. She just saw Rashid's backside, and the pooling of blood at his feet, that could only mean he was hurt. But how..when? For pete's sake he was in friggen Yew meditating. Since when did meditation leave you bleeding..and if that was the case why come here...when surely they have healers in Yew. She walks up to him getting out some ointment and bandages, when he flinched from her touch.
" I don't want your help."
His words stung worse than the foot she could feel throbbing, and the cuts upon her own body, biting her lower lip as she listened to a tale of drunk state, and of an orc. She fought back the need to hunt the orc down and make him pay. Each time she tried to apologize he in a short tone would tell her it was too late. Finally after offering him a deal, he let her tend to his wound. She was so close to him as she wrapped the bandage about him... close enough all she would have to do it move to her tip toes and kiss him. The the desire was strong to do it, the anger and hatred in his eyes...things she had never seen there before..made her own will falter.
"I ..I guess I should go..unless..."
Her gaze looked hopeful that maybe he wanted her to stay...but the emotionless stare he gave her... she knew what his answer was...the answer he had meditated on so long...if he could hate her so now...then there must not been any love there to start with. As her pounding head and mind wrapped itself around that concept, she felt ill..she closes her eyes...she didn't want to show him how weak she was...how..vulernable she was..how he had made her into what she swore she would never become. Her stance waiver but she turned and made her way out, climbing on her steed she just rode. Never looking back, as that was the bad idea, but never looking forward...her gaze remained on the ground letting her horse take them however and wherever he wished. Finally looking up watching the scenery fly by them, she realized where she felt she could go....feeling completely abandoned, her heart having lost the want to beat..so then she guides her steed towards Bucs. Bucs, the only place she felt she would be welcomed at. |
