Pacing around the small study. Maps and books lay strewn about the room. Time slowly trickled past and yet still Tarothin paced. One foot in front of the other, tireless. The fire from the candles wavered with each passing of his body. Many minutes went on and the only change were the heights of the candle wax.

Suddenly the feet stop and he stood there motionless in front of a polished steel mirror. Examining his face, he noticed that it is almost exactly how he remembered it since he had willingly recieved his curse a long time ago. The only difference was the expression. This one was one of frustration instead of that of elation. He was no longer the brass warrior with a high ambition of power. He was more thoughtful, more patient.

"I have lost some of my focus. It will not happen again." His face buldges and become discolored a bit in the mirror and his eyes flash red for an instance until once again he is looking at the same face before. This time though, one devoid of any emotion.

"My chess pieces have filled in all the empty spaces. Now it is time to gain better position. What ever is moved at this point will have negative and positive effects. But which one out weighs the negative..."

"Which one to move first..."
