Forgive me for not sending word before now about this, but I have been so very caught up in something wonderful that time has slipped far past. This I will tell you of more later, but... I was suddenly and inexplicably released from that dreadful prison in Yew some months back. I am fairly certain I am not even being watched now by the humans. This may be the result of rumors I heard that the Lord Regent Thraxas has disappeared, abducted it is said, and that his dire and unfair policies against our people have been relaxed. Of that I am not sure, but I can say things in Heartwood are much better than before. I am enjoying myself in the villa, tending to my small garden and keeping watch on the southern border with the orcs.

As to what I mentioned that compels me to describe it as wonderful, I would not tell thee of this through a letter. I wish to meet thee soon to discuss the matter face to face. I seek thy wisdom and counsel, for this all is very new to me and I would not go forward without both thy advice and blessing.
