Korin stepped out of the door way of his study, and was met with the steady rhythm of her heavy hammer striking the metal she was shaping. Korin stood and watched as with skill and grace she pounded on the glowing piece of metal. She was so lost in what she was doing that she did not notice him stepping up behind her. She was wearing her heavy leather apron over a thin short sleeve shirt that was soaked with sweat, and a short skirt.

Korin stood behind her watching her move as she swung her hammer in a rhythm that was only in her head, It was almost musical. Korin watched the back of her neck as tiny beads of sweat appeared to roll down her skin and stain the strap of her apron. With out thinking about it Korin gently blew his cold breath on her neck. He watched as the goose bumps arose and she gave a slight shiver.

With out turning around or stopping her works she spoke “Good morning My love” she picked up a pair of tongs and took the metal from the anvil and nestled it back in the forge. As she slipped off her gloves Korin stepped up behind her and slid his arms around her.

“You are up early” he said as he kissed her on the cheek just infront of her ear. His hands resting one atop the other on her stomach.

She placed her hands over his and leaned her head back against his shoulder. “I needed to get some work done and was wide awake.” she smiled as she turned her head and kissed his cheek.

Korin had this image of tiny hands forming the child inside her as she had been forming the metal. He smiled as his hands rubbed her stomach.
“So how much longer do we have?” he asked.

“How much longer for what?” she asked back turning to look at him.

“You know until the baby is here?” Korin said with his hands still stroking her stomach.

She gave a laugh and then smiled, “I think about seven months now.”

“Seven months?” Korins voice sounded shocked.

“Yes these things take time Korin” Laramie said as she turned around to look into his eyes.

Korin had never really had to deal with babies and honestly did not know much about what went on getting them into the world. He was not sure what a normal pregnancy entailed.

“You know we could maybe speak to Ciara or someone and maybe speed that up a bit.” Korin said

The look on Laramie's face registered between shock and horror. “what do you mean Korin?” she asked cocking her head to one side “by speeding it up?”

Korin began telling her about how when he was in his mother she was given a potion that caused the kids to grow faster. And how even after he was born he grew faster than normal kids. He went on to tell her how he was the size of a fourteen year old at the age of three and how most of the kids in Umbra where done the same way.
Korin went on to tell her about his childhood and the first W.I.T classes that he was apart of and how each child was born and trained to be a warrior. After what felt like hours of talking and answering her question something else came to Korin. But just as he openned his mouth to say it Laramie began to speak
“Korin This child I carry in me will be here in seven months!” Her brown eyes locked on his. “This child will not be hurried along by any means.” Korin saw deep into her eyes that she ment what she was saying and that even if he tried to convince he other wise she was not going to give in.

Korin quickly changed the subject, “Laramie have you given any thought to what would happen if someone came for our children and I was not home to protect them?”

Anger flashed across her face for a moment. “I would fight them!” she spat back at korin.

“I know you would, but I would fell better if you let me teach you how to use a weapon.” Korin said as he tried to put his arms around her.
She ducked under his arm and grabbed the smithing hammer from the anvil. “I have my weapon right here!”
Korin smiled, “Yes dear and what a formidable weapon it is. But do you really know how to use it as a weapon, and not just a tool?
This question caught her off guard and she looked at him puzzled for a bit. She started to say something then stopped then started again and stopped. Looking at him questioningly she finally with a small frown. “You swing it?”
