After hearing a faint scratch at the front doors of the Atalan stronghold of Maedas, Asimov walked to the front of the hall and pushed one of the giant doors slightly ajar. The corner of the metal door scraped along the stone floor through what had become a deep rut from repeated uses. When the door was open merely a few inches, a white rodent scurried into the great hall. While it was no strange occurrence to receive messages from various creatures over the years, it had been some time since someone wished to contact the Atalan.
Reading the note to himself, Asimov chuckled slightly while looking over his shoulder to Saevio who had just teleported down from the rooftop arena. "It seems your outburst last night made us a new friend," Asimov stated to his friend. "Apparently, there are things we must discuss with the Black Ops this evening."
Tossing the note into the lava behind him, Asimov kicked the animal back out the door and shut it quickly after. He made his way to the side table and quickly scribbled a note in response:
Meet us at the western gate of the city you call Trinsic at 9:30 by the eastern skies. If you are late, your opportunity will be missed. I trust that the topic you would like to discuss is of dire importance and this will not be a waste of our time. Until then...
Rolling up the parchment, Asimov tied it to the foot of the raven perched by a window on the eastern side of Maedas. After tapping the perch once, the bird lurched into the air - streaking off into the distance. |
