A lone figure sits in the Vesper inn. He can be seen stripping pieces of armour.

"It didn't suit you anyway." A familiar voice from behind him.

"What should I do? Where do I go?"

"Didn't you swear service to Sanctus?"

"That... that was out of fear."

"Well, your little Church is gone. Find somewhere to go."

"Tak. You try Umbra, eh? They have need of soldiers, so I see." A third voice.

"No. I don't want any more darkness in my life."

"Let the sun and light come streaming, huh?"

"A knight is nothing without an allegiance."

"You're still holding on to that dream?"

"I don't know. What else do I have?"

"You have us."

"Tak. Us."

"Thanks, but a lecherous bard and an unreliable thief don't make much of an allegiance."

"Look, he made a joke. He must be feeling better."

Soft chuckling from the three of them.

"All right, let's go drink and find some female company."

"Is all you think 'bout, eh?"

"Hey, I'm a man with a one-track mind. Hey, it is his birthday."

The three leave the room, leaving a pile of discarded Shadow Iron armour, and a sword and shield of the same material.
