The man walked carefully down the path, looking for a representative of the group known as the Blue Lotus. The letter says as follows...

To the Blue Lotus,

First I wish to introduce myself through this letter and I hope soon in person. I am Ambassador Valaric of the Dark Order. While our two groups are at war, I hope to open a line of communication in whatever fashion it may reveal itself. If this would perhaps interest you, send your reply with the one who delivered this parchment.

Her Divine Empress, Himeko Kukiko, has instructed me to inform you that you will be provided safe passage through the Empire for the purpose of presenting yourself as Ambassador of the Dark Order before Her Majesty and the Blue Lotus Clan.

If you can make yourself available Sunday January 13th at the Ninth hour past Noon in the Eastern Sky, Her Majesty will hear your petition.

The messanger returns a day late. After I read the letter I look in scorn at the man who brought back the letter and demanded he leave me. I instruct the messenger service to send me one much quickly and with a mount this time and I would gladly pay the difference. A short time later a slender women appears, leading a mare. She gave a simple bow and told me she would guarentee swift service. I quickly pen the letter and give her the instructions and soon she vanished in the distance.

Minster Omi Hushura,

I deeply apologize on my absense. It seems the man who returned the letter had taken to long. I have removed him from my employ and the one before you shall find her way back to me much quickier. I very much am eager to meet the Empress and am pleased at your generous offer of safe passage. If the same hour upon the 17th is acceptable to the Empress please send back word with the woman before you.

The month of Mutsuki (January) is a difficult month for Her Divine Majesty as there are many ceremonies she must oversee. It is unfortunate, but it is impossible for the Empress to grant you audience on the day you suggested. In turn, may I offer you the day of Sunday, the 20th day of January at the Ninth hour past noon as being most auspicious?

The woman appears with letter in hand, stopping short to bow to me before handing the letter over. I read it over and let out a deep sigh. Putting out a fresh paper I write my response and hand it to the woman, along with a few coins for her journey.

Minster Omi Hushura,

It is with regret that I inform you that such a day and time I will not be able to make my way to your city. I have prior engagements which I must attend, is there another day and time that works for the Empress?
