Game of Thrones: Yay! Wow, dragons grow up fast in that world. I thought they were still babies even after hundreds of years. I don't think I like papa Lanister at all anymore. He was mean to the imp. It felt like it was just on a few minutes when it was over...and they extended the minutes on it this season too! Can't wait for next week. lol

Walking Dead: I still say that kid shoulda been shot a long time ago. Lying is bad! Won't comment on the cliffhanger cause not sure if everyone has seen it yet. I WILL say....since it seems like everyone that is a guest on Talking Dead dies that night or very soon thereafter, I don't like that Daryl was the guest tonight.

Stannis is the one true and lawful king. He is Azor Ahai.

I've always been back and forth on that one. I think the imp would make the best king, aside from all the orgies he'd have in his court. But, that won't happen so....

Stannis is my forerunner but I have a redheaded issue with him. If he can be controlled so easily, and then sulk about everything so hard after a loss.. I'm losing faith in him. Dany, it would be cool to see her take the throne, but unlike my bf, I don't think she's the "true" heir. Plus, as much as I like her, she's too emotional & immature for the position. She wouldn't make a good ruler right now. Robb has been impressing me lately. I started off not liking him or the way he did things, but since his father's death, he has really stepped up.

I'll have to see how things go a bit longer, but at this very minute in the series, I would choose Robb.

((on a side note, I am really hoping mama Stark will fall in a hole somewhere or get shot in the face w/ a arrow))

And now, this post is starting a "discussion" w/ me and my bf and I have to go defend my argument about letting the Watchers have sex so they have something to fight for. lol

The true ruler of the Iron Throne is the Mother of Dragons, the Khalisi. It was her family's throne to begin with, before Stannis fat brother took it. ( I haven't read the books, but going by what's been revealed so far, unless I truly misunderstood that bit in season 1... ) Even if her family were murderous and insane. She is tops on my list. <3

Hehe, Cein, thats the argument my bf and I have. You and he think the same about it. I think Robert took the throne fair and square. He fought for it and won it. However, it would have been a wise move to kill off all of Dany's family right after.

Wasn't it mentioned that Dany's family "took" the throne from someone else in the beginning of their rule? If so, it seems presumptuous of her to assume she's the "rightful" ruler. Someone from the family before them could just come up and claim the same thing she is. I could be wrong though. I haven't read the books yet. And I only think it was mentioned. I mighta misunderstood since I get the names of the people in their history confused w/ ea other.

Game of Thrones
Well all thrones are bought with the iron price as the Greyjoys would say. Plus the Targaryens stole it hundreds if not thousands of years ago. In the books they speak of several generations of Targaryens. They go into talking about how they interbred for generations and it almost became something of a science that every other inbred Targaryen was a mad king. It is even hinted that Geoffrey because he is inbred is a similarly mad king.

I personally think Jon Snow will end up being the king by the time the books are finished. I think Arya Stark for Tyrion "the Imp" Lanister should be the ruler. And as much as I love Dani Targaryen and her dragons and I want to see her get her revenge I don't want to see her or her family back in power nor do I want to see a bunch of Dothraqi Horsemen running around raping everything. Everyone else can die for all I care.

Walking Dead
After reading all 17 volumes of the graphic novels I just keep getting more and more disappointed with the show. Don't get me wrong the graphic novels are definetly lacking a redneck with a heart of gold and a piece of rubbish brother but the story arcs and plots are just better. Seriously if you like spending an hour every Sunday for 12 weeks out of the year watching great zombie make up there is no reason to read the graphic novels. But if you like story I recommend them, highly. Or you can spend the 40 remaining weeks reading the graphic novels like I did. Reading them will not ruin the show.

I also am waiting for Trueblood to start again. I started reading the novels and they're okay, straightforward. There's a couple differences, but it's okay. I prefer the tv show.

I read that the graphic novel/comics were different from the tv show Walking Dead. I like the show enough I won't read it til probably it is over. Same goes with Game of Thrones ( and I agree about the horsemen running around ). I want her to get her revenge, but I am hoping she changes her mind about the throne. It feels like she was trapped at the beginning and likes her freedom, being a queen would kinda take that away in a sense, but I think she'd make an OK queen, just those crazy horsemen would mess things up.

There was no Iron Throne before the Targaryens. They were the first Kings of the Seven Kingdoms and held it for a few hundred years. So technically, Daenerys is the rightful heir. I think there is another that has a claim, though not as good, but only if my thought on their lineage is true.

I would suggest reading the books. Season 1 stayed pretty true to Book 1. Season 2... there are things they changed that are ok and things that I don't like at all. I'm curious how much changes with Season 3.

I'm going for Jon Snow here. Though, hopefully, by the time she actually GETS to the throne, Dany will have matured enough that she can handle a kingdom. Honestly, I'm rooting for Anya.

Cein, with True Blood, I couldn't get into the last season. I know that the books aren't as good, but the fae plot was WAY better in them. Even Sookie's powers are less cheesy.

I think part of the problem I'm having with these shows is that I will wait until a season or two has occurred, then I'll marathon watch them. When I'm caught up and into the plot, waiting for the next episode breaks some of the continuity/immersion for me.

At least these shows don't go the way Torchwood went. That last season killed me, it really jumped the shark ( i don't know what happened, but you won't miss much if you decide not to watch it) . If you love Doctor Who as much as I do, Ditto, getting a partial fix with Captain Jack and his crew can patch between the episodes/seasons. It can get pretty intense at times, and it is definitely not for watching with kids around, unlike Who.

Torchwood is cool!
I watched all of the Torchwood that they did in the UK. But since they moved it to the US, I can't find it! *cries* What channel does it come on and what night, Cein?

When I really like a show, I prefer to watch it episode by episode, especially if it's a popular show like Walking Dead or Game of Thrones. All the excitment going around from family friends really adds to the fun of watching it. In some cases I don't discover a show's existance til after it's already been cancelled. Like I did with Voyager and Ugly Betty. Then I marathon them. That can be fun too.

You have to find Torchwood online, some sites host it. The last season I have to check to see if Netflix has it. To be honest, that season only had a few episodes and then poof, left it hanging mid-action. I don't know if that was it and they stopped making it, I think it is though. That's what bugged me most. After the 4 5 6 wicked finale we get.. americanized bs.

Two really awesome shows that I didn't watch til they were already over ( and both unfairly only got 2 seasons ) Dead Like Me and Better Off Ted. If you haven't seen them, you are in for a treat.

I'll have to check out the Ted one. Dead like Me, I loved that one. That show ended wayyy too soon. Didn't care for the movie. It was missing vital characters I thought.
Thanks for the Torchwood info. Smile
