|
Came across this announcement via Lovecraftzine on Facebook. I never heard of GOG before, but the sign up was fast and I did get the Lovecraft inspired game free. Then I happened to see some old favorites "Bullfrog Classics" with 2 of my all time favorite games Dungeon Keeper and Theme Hospital. I picked that up for 9 bucks and there were 11 games in the pack. They also have the Ultima Complete Saga on sale for like 7 bucks. There are a lot of games and packs for sale for very cheap. This sale is in swing right now, though I originally posted 12 hours, that was for the free copy of Magrunner.
Quote: | Magrunner: Dark Pulse is free for 24 hours at the GOG Summer Sale
If you've been paying attention, you already know that the GOG Summer Sale is in full swing, with big bundles, fast-flying flash deals and other such digital gaming goodness. New now, and for the next 24 hours, you can snag the first-person puzzle game Magrunner: Dark Pulse for even better than cheap. I'm talkin' 'bout free.
It's a vaguely Portal-esque puzzle game in which a mega-corporation of the future embarks upon a cutting-edge research program and accidentally unleashes the Great Old Ones of the Cthulhu mythos. Seriously, that's it—it's a straight-up sci-fi physics puzzler corrupted by a Lovecraftian invasion, and it's actually pretty good, although Marsh wasn't quite as enthusiastic about it as I am in his review.
But it's free, and it's DRM-free, so there is literally no reason not to grab it. The GOG Summer Sale is escalating in other ways, too, with 30 bundles going on the block for as much as 90 percent off over the same 24-hour period and 30 new flash sales every hour. The Magrunner: Dark Pulse giveaway is on now and runs until 12:59 pm GMT on June 19.

I LOVE GOG!!!!!
Anyone who is a fan of the older classics like the original x-coms and xenonauts or the old TBS games from SSI like panzer general/corps or one of my personal childhood favorites from Sierra, Birthright Gorgon's Alliance. Most of the old Bioware games are there as well as modern indie games inspired by the titles I listed. Most of these games nowadays require dosbox to run UNLESS you get them from GOG. Most of the games come in packs of the whole series and most game packs are in the $5-$10 range. _________________ Inkari 1:02 AM Where you been man?
