I am so dreadfully sorry I missed our last schedueled meeting. Please do not take my absence as an insult, I had fallen very ill and was not able to leave my home. I have now recovered and wish to meet again in Jhelom. Please tell me when is most convenient for you. Again, you have my deepest apologies.

I am sorry to hear about your recent sickness. Though I am much happier to hear that you are well and good. If able, I hope to meet with you in two days time so that we may address whatever affiars and concerns trouble you. I pray that you remain in good health and that our next meeting will go off without a hitch. Mayhaps I will speak with you prior to our meeting.

Cuth sat back in his chair and allowed himself a little smile. He was glad the Regent had been so open during the talks. It had been a great while since he had seen Rufus. He was suprised at how sharp witted the man still was. Even with the stress of his current position, Rufus was still a man who was deeply intellectual. Cuthbert greatly admired that. He wrapped up the note and handed it to his squire to deliver. As he watched the boy leave, he thought of the opportunities that were open before him and smiled at the thought of things yet to come.

Ubel sat at a long stone table, sorting out the day's events in his mind. He took his floppy hat and threw it lightly across the table. It was a productive day, and both him and Lord Rufus seemed pleased. Both noticed the messenger arrive with the note from Cuthbert. Rufus smiled brightly as he read the words.

"That is wonderful. I know that Cuthbert will make a fine person to join us, in time." Rufus sopke to Ubel in a sort of hurried, fatigued tone. "My friend, would you mind writing a small letter acknowledging our friend Cuthbert?."

"Of course, Lord Rufus. I am sure you have much on your mind."

After Rufus headed to contemplate the day's events Ubel began to write...

Mi'lord Cuthbert,

I am writing in lieu of Lord Rufus Oryan. He wanted me to convey his gratification over the matters we discussed in our meeting earlier. He is very pleased to have opened up a dialogue with you and your growing people. He is looking forward to continuing this friendship, as well as I.
