I was wondering what everyones opinion on guild stones are. How do you RP it?

Elf roleplayed it as an ancient stone that they carved the members names on... Some evil guilds made it a soulstone kind of thing?

I was wondering if there was a standard on this. I am gonna roleplay it being a soulstone unique to Sosaria, that loosely binds minds and souls together.

Wow... stones mean something? I thought it was just a convienent way to hold members. I honestly doubt the HH stone means anything, and I know the OSS stone doesn't. It's more a game mechanic, to me, than something roleplayed.

The stones that I have characters on typically take a back seat to other guild lore, such as a book, an artifact (not the Doom ones), or old tales of the start. It's a good idea, I think, to employ some lore into the actual stone too. Smile

Well, this is how D|O uses one or how I used one. There is a mystical stone. A stone that binds or takes one's soul, connecting them all spiritually to that guild. Giving a stronger unity and more meaning. That everyone has a connection towards others in the guild. Pretty much what you are thinking on Kuja, I've been doing for a while.

Can also be placed as something like a record. A stone to chip ones name on it to show other members that you are indeed, signed on in the guild as a fellow member. Kinda like a contract or signing of ones name on an aggreance slip of contract.

Ive always Rp'ed it out that I was carving the names and such into the stone as I was adding people.I think for a more evil type guild than a "Soul Stone" way to rp it would be great way to deal with such..Just my opinion here.

Azeroth used it as a stone with magical properties....Each guildmember was bound to it, their name on there in blood, representing the blood oath they took. While it wasnt a soul stone, when the stone broke, their oath was shattered and they were 'free' so it was magical, but not a soul stone......

I would imagine you should feel they are like a nexus point of your guildmates spiritual energy....i dunno, probably how Bailos would look at it

In KOS we don't really RP it that much. Its just a hunk of rock where we carve the names of the members.

OES roleplays the guildstone as the altar of the Ebon Skull. Nothing too spiffy.

For AoF its kinda like...a contract.

You join up, you stay joined up unless i give you an honorable discharge.

Deserters are hunted down untill they surrender thier equipment or we have to kill em tog et it back -*grin*

It is a game , play as you see fit to. Life is after all what you make it. I will respect whatever you choose to come up with , within reason of course. Be bold and go with your hearts desire for the meaning of a guild stone as long as the members you choose are willing to back ya up.

That is most everyones feelings as the guildstone is a minor part of RP.

I was just curious how people did it.

i always pictured it, as well being exactly what it is: a large stone with the guilds name on it, and its members, and a little info about the guild, kind of a like a trademark statue, heh.
