Sarah reads over her partially written letter in the quietness of the early hours of the morning.

“Tis before sunrise and I find myself unsettled. Restless I came to your study and sat in your chair. The arms seemed to hold me secure while I take in the growing faintness of your scent. Rufus my love, come home. My body aches to be with you and my mind can not settle upon any thought for long. For it goes to you, my husband.”

Looking out towards the sea she gazes upon the azure sky that the beginning sunrise has lit, chewing on her lower lip, a habit she has picked up from Rufus she picks up her where she had stopped. “A cloudless day, I wonder if you are watching the birth of this day as I am,” Sarah thinks to herself then dips the quill into the black ink once more. Today would be a good day for sailing, my love. I beseech thee to set sail and return home, into my embrace that now is empty. For I miss you so much.

Tapping her chin with the quill’s blunt end she dips it again into the ink and writes…..I received Najm’s letter, he is doing well in his studies and told me of your visit. I was so glad that you were able to cast a course that enabled you to visit him. I can tell that you two had a wonderful time. Has he grown up much? His handwriting has much improved and seems so grown up. I want to start with our plans for Nujel’m and become a family once more my love. So please hurry home.

The good and fair Lady LaBelle will be transcribing a missive to you soon regarding the last meeting of the Loyalists. Attendance was strong and interest was high. An urgent issue was brought forth by the Humanis representatives regarding the Ebon Skull cult that exists in the outer reaches of the realm. I will enjoy seeing how you will view this new dilemma.

Her manservant appears at the doorway and quietly reminds his queen of the need to hurry if she is still planning to visit the family in the outskirts of town. Nodding to him in understanding she finishes out her letter to Rufus.

Tis meal time now and I must go now my love, my hu-man, my regent and my lifemate. I feel your presence close by but still heed your queen and listen to your wife’s heart~ return to me.

Dipping once more and tossing her long hair over her shoulder and getting ink on herself, she signs the letter with the nickname Rufus had given her their last night together.
