I've been working as a civil engineer since I graduated from the University of Virginia in 1999. Since I got out of college, I've lived in VA, MD, and now NC. I grew up in a small coastal VA town. Before I was an engineer, I had all manner of jobs during high school and college ranging from horse trail guide, stablehand, amusement park ride operator, oil refinery employee, and aerobics instructor. I was an odd cross between a nerd and a jock in high school being both the saludatorian and captain of the field hockey team, among other things.

I'm also a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with lymphoma when I was 23 years old, and I started playing UO for something to do when I was too sick to work or be very active. I've now been in remission for more than 2 years. I'd never RPed or played online games before, but I've really enjoyed playing UO.
