It was a long ride back to his home in the farthest reaches of Southeast Luna. Porthos sat in his study pondering the events of the Regency meeting of the previous eve. He got up and gathered his finest quills and inks from his desk. He went to his shelf to retrieve his most lavish parchments, scorched on the edges and embossed with two golden scorpions, each in the outline of a skull at the top with the initials SSF in between them in slain scorpions blood.
Greetings Lord Rufus,
'Tis good to see you well. I had heard many tales of your
adventures in and out of the realm and I congratulate you on
the great happiness and glory that hath been bestowed on
thee. It always does the heart good to see a man experience
such joy.
I write to you today to ask that you reconsider your
decision and allow the Regulators to aid in the plight that now
faces the Loyalists. I do realize that you were not present at
the time but it is hard for people to wait when no word of your
return had been sent. I believe that all was done in the best
interest of the Regency and the people of the majestic land. I
also believe that the contributions of this coalition of independent
guilds would far outweigh any negative connotations dreamt up
by people bent on the ideals of merely disliking a member for
spite rather than based on facts.
I look forward to hearing from you or even having the
honor of buying you a pint if you would like to discuss this
further.
Sincerely,
Porthos von Richthoffen
Premier, Steel Scorpions of Fire
Falcon Roost (198884002)
Porthos takes the letter and seals it with red wax. He then takes his ring pressing it into the still warm wax leaving an image of a scorpion inside a skull. He heads over to his aviary and takes out his best falcon. He tucks the letter in the bird's leather pouch and sends him on his way eagerly
awating a response. _________________ Thanks Simon
